🌟 Honoured to be invited to join the Leadership Circle with BHP yesterday! Engaging with org psychs, operational leaders, and leadership theorists, we focused on how to best support and nurture leaders with practical tools and pathways, especially when they’re time-poor and under-resourced. Our key insight? Leaders need the freedom to lead, with tangible actions and behaviours to improve by 1% each day. We discussed ways to unburden their cognitive and emotional load, making leadership less about perfection and more about real-life, messy growth. It was refreshing to shift the conversation from idealised leadership to actionable support and real-life learnings. Excited to see our discussions take flight in industry leadership training, bringing tangible improvements to our leaders’ journeys. What are your thoughts on operational leadership today? I’d love to hear your insights and have conversations about how we can better support our leaders in practical, impactful ways. #shinebrightereveryday #incredibleandimperfect Hindsight Leadership & Resilience Illumine Ops

Leadership Engagement Leadership is key to driving a culture of Operational Excellence. Leaders must do more than set expectations—they must lead by example, participate in improvement projects, and foster an environment of transparency and trust. Engaged leaders actively remove barriers, champion projects, and inspire teams to reach their highest potential. It’s about walking the walk, not just talking the talk. 😨 Leadership isn’t for cowards. 😰 Leaders don’t create followers they create more leaders. 😱 Leadership is more than just a title; it's about making a positive impact on the lives of others. 😓 Real managers are leaders. 🥱 Great leaders praise their employees both publicly and privately. We’ve all read them, ‘liked’ them and privately congratulated ourselves for already doing them. But let’s face it, the reality is usually very different. Great leadership rarely comes easily - for most of us, it requires commitment and application supported by regular training and coaching delivered in the right way. It won’t happen overnight. Stick at it, practice, read, listen, build the right habits, develop your own style and be prepared to make some mistakes along the way. Only by doing this, will these words become your day to day leadership reality. #management #leadership #time #habits #training #practice

Pros And Cons Of Resonant And Dissonant Leadership And When Dissonant Is Best -- On the surface, dissonant leadership may appear to be entirely undesirable, but in the world of leadership, few things are clear-cut. Resonant leaders are leaders who pay close attention to the emotional lives of their organizations and employees. They are aware of and strive to build trusting relationships and collaborations while prioritizing employee learning and growth. By contrast, dissonant leaders are, above all else, more authoritative. Stereotypically, they are leaders who adopt a command-and-control style focused on driving results and invest little time in relationship building. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? 🤔 Roselind Torres' TED Talk - "What It Takes To Be A Great Leader" 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Traditional leadership development programs don't prepare leaders for the complexities of the 21st century. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 Companies invest heavily in leadership training, but there are still significant gaps in leadership effectiveness. Leaders are failing to anticipate change, build diverse networks, and take courageous risks. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Leaders should focus on three key questions: Where are you looking to anticipate the next change? How diverse is your network? Are you courageous enough to abandon successful practices? 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 The talk mentions stories of leaders who failed to adapt and a leadership team that successfully uses trend-sharing to course-correct strategy. 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Leaders should answer the three questions to become more effective in the 21st century. #leadership #tedtalks

In today's rapidly changing world, successful leadership is about influence, not just authority. I've been so fortunate to work with leaders who embody this principle. These leaders wouldn’t rely solely on their title or position; instead, they inspire by example, earning respect through their actions and genuine concern for others and the organizational mission and values. Influence is built on trust, empathy, and collaboration, not coercion. Great leaders build a culture of innovation, engagement, and shared purpose. #ProverbialPathways #ThoughtOfTheWeek #Leadership
