🏆The power of public-private partnerships in action! 🤝🏼Over the last few years the trends in regional #PPPs have been transforming the vision for patient centric care in the GCC. 🇦🇪🇸🇦AstraZeneca started with a partnership with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi in June to develop a Centre of Excellence for Rare Diseases and is now following with another centre in Saudi Arabia. 🏥These centres will be transformational for patients, streamlining paths to diagnosis, management and monitoring, whilst bringing in best in class clinicians to support the patients that need them the most. 🌟As the region continues to drive towards PPPs, this is a great example of what shared objectives and vision can lead to. #RareDiseasesMENA #RareDisease

IFPMA joined the 77th World Health Organization South-East Asia (WHO SEARO) Regional Committee in New Delhi, India. There, we delivered a statement on agenda items focused on non-communicable diseases (#NCDs) and universal health coverage (#UHC). 📣 Achieving UHC requires comprehensive access to NCDs prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care. 🎯 Ahead of the 4th United Nations High-Level Meeting on #NCDs in 2025, we urge the World Health Organization to leverage the capabilities of the private sector, including the innovative pharmaceutical industry, to improve access to quality diagnostics and treatments for all people living with NCDs. 🔗 https://ifpma.info/3zRm62E

Our own Dr. Boumediene Soufi, Global AMR Program Lead, is participating in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), actively contributing to key sessions on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and other critical global health issues. As the global leader in generic and biosimilar medicines, #Sandoz is committed to advancing its Purpose of pioneering access for patients. Engaging in these important global discussions with key stakeholders allows us to contribute to promoting responsible antibiotic use and fostering cross-sector collaboration to tackle the global health threat posed by AMR. One of the most pressing issues in healthcare today – and with direct implications for #Sandoz as the global leader in generic antibiotics – is antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The High-Level Meeting on #AMR occurs at a pivotal moment for global stakeholders to unite, discuss policies, and commit to action. Our participation in these high-level discussions will allow us to collaborate with other leaders, influence policy development, and help shape the global AMR strategy moving forward.

Lack of access to the right antibiotic at the right time is a major public health issue. GARDP and partners are taking on this challenge. In partnership with Holy Family Hospital, we organized our first Implementors Network meeting in New Delhi.  🙌 Experts at the meeting identified three key ways to accelerate efforts to tackle #AMR ⤵ -Strengthen and effectively implement stewardship practices in India  -Address diagnostic challenges  -Look into the pooled procurement model     The network decided to build on the discussion to develop a white paper to help advocate for the development and implementation of policies and regulations aimed at addressing AMR at national and regional levels.   Thanks to all the participants for working toward building a pathway to introduce novel Reserve antibiotics in India. 🎉 Firstline is delighted to announce a project to deliver Canada’s first official national antimicrobial prescribing guidelines in collaboration with Public Health Agency of Canada | Agence de la santé publique du Canada and Association of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Disease Canada 🇨🇦. The project will deploy Firstline’s advanced digital platform to facilitate AMMI’s work in localizing the World Health Organization's AWaRe system and antibiotic book for Canadian use, and deliver those guidelines to healthcare providers right at the point of care. Every healthcare provider, across all clinical settings, plays a critical role in antimicrobial stewardship. By integrating these guidelines seamlessly into everyday medical practice, Firstline will enable healthcare professionals to make informed, evidence-based decisions that are vital for effective patient care. This effort not only underscores Firstline’s technological capability but also our dedication to enhancing clinical outcomes. In Canada, AMR currently claims thousands of lives and costs billions of dollars annually.
