From the court to the boardroom, Matt Doherty knows what it takes to lead. A starter on UNC's 1982 National Championship team with Michael Jordan and James Worthy, and later AP National Coach of the Year, Matt faced tough lessons when his leadership came under scrutiny. Instead of backing down, he transformed his pain into passion, studying leadership at top schools and working with the best. Today, he inspires others through his Doherty Coaching Practice, keynote talks, and bestselling book, Rebound: From Pain to Passion – Leadership Lessons Learned. Here are a few of his most popular presentations: * Leadership Strategies: Leadership is a Learned Behavior * Building Your Team: Creating a Championship Culture * Overcoming Adversity: How to Rebound Catch Matt in action here: https://lnkd.in/eKm7dbfy #Leadership #TeamBuilding #Rebound #heyREDSpeakers

Sunday musing… Working on a speech I’ll be making next month. I’ll be honoring the legacy of an outgoing founder CEO and encouraging the people she leaves behind to continue to build their legacy. First, humbled to be selected to be the key note at this defining event. Second, the CEO’s story is the very blueprint on building a leadership legacy based on a great cause, setting high expectations, building clarity on the “how”, and defining what “winning” looks like at every level. Finally, when leaders role model trust building, investing in growing themselves, and a will to overcome the hard things, anything is possible. #leadership #ceocoach #ceos #legacy

Congratulations to Tom Robinson and the Edelman team on launching the 2024 Trust Barometer at a packed out event this morning. Trust is probably the most critical basic ingredient of a functioning society. In my work with leadership teams, trust also matters - but in a different way.... You have to remove the distrust and open people to the possibility of trust. But you can't aim for trust directly. It comes from doing the work together, having the important conversations, aligning on expectations and getting some wins on the board. #trustmatters #leadership #leadershipteams
