How Affordable Care Impacts Women's Healthcare Affordable healthcare services remain pivotal in advancing women's healthcare by ensuring the affordability and availability of essential services like maternity care and preventive screenings. I find the concept of minimum Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) requirements for health plans, and compliance reporting to enforce such targets, especially in the Medicaid field to be quite fascinating. Although, MLR is fundamentally a simple ratio of claims to premium, rules for what constitutes numerator and denominator can get complex very fast and often change.
