Amid the war, Primary Health Care (PHC) services play a pivotal role in addressing the immediate health needs of individuals and families, as well as in fostering community resilience and promoting long-term recovery in Ukraine. Our new article with Elina Dale, Yulia Novak, Olga Demeshko examines the resilience of PHC in Ukraine during the war, drawing a few reflections relevant for other fragile and conflict-affected situations. Members of civil society are important to the accomplishment and dissemination of TB research including that of RePORT International. The World Health Organization (WHO) Civil Society Task Force on #Tuberculosis (CSTF-TB) provides a platform for discussion and exchange with WHO, acting as an advisory body focusing on leveraging engagement with civil society and affected communities at all levels to accelerate progress towards ending TB, in line with WHO #EndTB TB Strategy. https://lnkd.in/gYkDXQhT

26 May 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland, our team participated in #WalkTheTalk, marching at the 77th World Health Assembly. It's crucial to note that the world is currently off track to meet the global NCD targets for 2025 and SDG target 3.4 for 2030, impacting related goals such as SDG target 3.8 on universal health coverage. Looking ahead, the Fourth High-Level Meeting on NCDs in 2025 plays a vital role in reshaping the agenda. Member States must engage actively in the preparatory process, share best practices at the highest political level, and enhance political and financial commitment for national NCD responses. This can be achieved through key platforms like WHA77, the International dialogue on sustainable financing for NCDs and mental health, and the WHO Director-General’s Progress Report on NCDs to the WHA78. To support multisectoral inputs into ongoing Pandemic Agreement negotiations, The Global Preparedness Monitoring Board has worked with the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) to host two dialogues with Member States in the margins of INB 8, one with civil society organizations (CSOs), and one with the private sector, moderated by GPMB members Bente Angell-Hansen, Mark Lowcock, Ilona Kickbusch. The private sector discussions addressed R&D, access and benefit sharing, equitable access. The CSO session addressed capacity-building, financing, One Health, governance. This mixed methods research highlights key lessons learned from the pandemic, emphasising the need for stronger inclusion of NCD care in emergency preparedness and response planning.
