Emma Rawson-Te Patu message is powerful: “We are political by our very existence, hauora is political.” She inspires us to decolonise and indigenise global public health by addressing the political determinants of health. Her vision is clear to ensure Indigenous knowledge is recognised and valued, driving health gains for our whānau, hapū, and iwi. Shared from Hapai Te Hauora.

The Indigenous Determinants of Health Alliance (IDHA) is proud to join the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) as a member, and to collaborate on initiatives to advance Indigenous health rights, protect all peoples and the planet, preventing diseases, and promoting peace, health, and well-being. We truly appreciate the support of WFPHA’s President, Emma Rawson Te-Patu (First Indigenous President), for her support and commitment and work to decolonize health and re-Indigenize systems.
