Advice for 2025 Apprentices: Quality over quantity! When it comes to applying for degree apprenticeships, it’s tempting to think that sending out as many applications as possible will increase your chances of success. But in reality, quality always beats quantity. Generic CVs and cover letters may seem efficient, but they often fail to capture what makes you the right fit for a particular role. Companies appreciate candidates who’ve taken the time to understand their culture and values. Rather than applying broadly, it’s more effective to invest time in thoroughly researching each company: 1. Learn about their values, mission, and culture. – Explore their website, read articles, and check out their employee advice pages to understand what drives them. 2. Network with current employees, especially apprentices. – Ask about their experiences to get a genuine feel for the role and the company. This can provide valuable insights that guide your application. 3. Tailor your CV and cover letter. – Align your skills and experiences directly with what the company needs. Personalizing each application shows that you’re truly invested in the opportunity, rather than just the position. Taking the time to craft detailed, customized applications can significantly boost your chances of success aswell as ensuring that you’re applying to companies that truly match your aspirations. It’s not about how many you apply to but how well you connect with each company. #DegreeApprentiships #Interviews #Apprentices2025 💕

-- The Apprenticeship Journey-- Yesterday, I joined Outer Circle with their virtual event discussing the Apprentice journey into your career with Romario Ellis, Ayesha D., Sydney Silver, Santina Bunting, Martin Lin and Lucas Lelertavicius. The Apprenticeship Journey has 5 phases: Decision Phase --> Application Phase --> Examination Phase --> Assessment Centre --> Interview Phase 1. Decision Phase: Choosing on your Career Path ✅️❌️ • University/Internships? • Advanced/Higher Apprenticeships? • Degree Apprenticeship? 2. Application phase 📄 • Create and Refine CV • Research your company • Self yourself! • Showcase transferable skills + give concrete examples 3. Examination Phase ✍️ • Multiple Choice Response Questions • Technical Aspect 4. Assessment Centre 🔍 • What?- A method of assessment used by employers to evaluate candidates employability based on various tasks + activities. • Assesses?- Communication, Problem solving, Decision making, Team work, Critical thinking, Time management, Attention to detail. • Tips?- Voice any unique opinions and communicate confidently. • "Show you're well organised, For example, you could ask 'How much time is left?' to show you understand deadlines" - Ayesha D. 5. Interview Phase 🗣 > Introduction > Soft Skills > Technical Skills > Experiences Before the Interview- • Research company e.g. values • Research the job role • Practice common interview questions During the Interview- • Ask questions • Be enthusiastic • Show that you've done the research above What Employers Say? 📚 Romario Ellis spoke to Early Career Recruiters from different companies and kindly shared very useful advice directly from the recruiters! I recommend joining future Outer Circle events to receive invaluable information like this. I found out through the Outer Circle Discord first so join if you're interested. ❓️ Q&A ❓️ ~ Someone asked: "What are the top 3 things you should consider when choosing the best workplace for you?" • Look out for working environments - Lucas Lelertavicius • Look out for companies that hire many apprentices - Ayesha D. • Company culture is key - Santina Bunting ~ I asked if you can't secure an apprenticeship after A-Levels, would it be best to take a gap year? • "Everyone has their own timeline"- Santina Bunting • "You might be on Chapter 4 whilst someone else is on their Chapter 15" - Romario Ellis ~ Lastly, a tip from Sydney Silver, pick out terminology from what the recruiters/employers say and ask questions using those words to impress your recruiters. 💫 Thank you to the panellist and Romario Ellis for making the event possible! 💫

As someone who is passionate about education and employment, I believe that the two go hand in hand. Providing quality education and training opportunities is crucial in preparing individuals for successful and fulfilling careers. Investing in education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about developing essential skills and critical thinking abilities that are essential for the modern workforce. It is important for educational institutions to collaborate with industries to ensure that their curriculum is aligned with the demands of the job market. This will ultimately lead to a smoother transition from education to employment for graduates. On the other hand, employers also play a vital role in supporting education and training initiatives. By offering internships, apprenticeships, or post-graduation employment opportunities, businesses can help bridge the gap between education and employment. This not only benefits the individuals seeking employment, but also the companies themselves by gaining access to a skilled and diverse talent pool. In today's rapidly evolving job market, it is crucial for both educational institutions and employers to work together to create pathways for individuals to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge required for success. By fostering this collaborative approach, we can ensure that everyone has access to quality education and meaningful employment opportunities, ultimately driving economic growth and prosperity for all. #education #employment #workforcedevelopment #collaboration
