Ideally, 3PLs have full control over the shipping methods within their building, across all of their clients' volume. It's what's best for them, and it's what's best for their brands. This starts with the Trust they build with their brands and the right commercials/expectations up front. If they don't, they're unable to make adjustments that meet the most important expectations of their brands, low cost and on time delivery. They also need the flexibility to protect their own margins and keep the lights on without adding "new fees" to pick/pack. With this control, they have the opportunity to lower their brands shipping cost, while adding margin to their business, but if they don't have this control they have to add fee's elsewhere which only helps them and hurts the brand. 3PL's are responsible when shipping goes wrong, so they deserve a piece of the revenue and they deserve autonomy to meet customer expectations. Otherwise they're held responsible for things they cannot control. An apsect of business that's unavoidable, but it can be minimized. #3pl #ecommerce #fulfillment #shipping #logistics
