I am extremely delighted to share that my BTech thesis, titled "Non-Data-Aided SNR Estimation for Molecular Communication Systems in the Internet of Bio-Nano Things," has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Internet of Things Journal! I want to thank my advisor, Prof. Sudhir Kumar, for his unwavering support and guidance during this research process. His mentorship during my undergraduate years and throughout my grad school application process has been invaluable, and I am truly grateful for it. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my co-authors, Dr. Ajit Kumar and Dr. Ethungshan Shitiri, whose contributions and collaboration made this journey enriching and rewarding. Abstract: This paper proposes a non-data-aided (NDA) signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimation method for molecular diffusive communication channels. In contrast to previous data-aided (DA) approaches, which require a known data sequence to be shared between transmitter and receiver nanomachines, the proposed NDA method eliminates the need for prior knowledge of data symbols for the estimation process. The absence of a training sequence significantly reduces resource costs by minimizing the number of molecules required for information transmission. The expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm was used to iteratively find the maximum-likelihood (ML) estimates. The proposed method is particularly advantageous in scenarios in which accessing known data sequences is not possible, thereby ensuring robust communication in the Internet of bio-nano things. By employing the ML estimates obtained through the EM algorithm, the probabilities associated with the transmission of data symbols were derived, and the bit error probabilities were obtained to assess the system performance. The numerical results validated the effectiveness of the proposed NDA SNR estimator in accurately estimating SNR over a diverse range of conditions. The proposed NDA estimator demonstrated resilience by maintaining a low bit error probability.

Dear AICTE and IIT Directors, I am writing to express my concerns regarding the Indian Science Technology and Engineering Facilities Map (I-STEM) portal. This initiative was launched by the government to provide access to research facilities across various institutes, including IITs and other institutions. Unfortunately, it appears that the portal is not functioning as intended. Many registered institutes have not updated critical information such as costs and available slots. Although some institutes might respond to queries, the overall experience suggests that the portal is not effectively serving its purpose. This situation is particularly frustrating for the research community, as the portal was established to facilitate access to important facilities. I am seeking clarification on whether there is any IIT professor or institution responsible for maintaining the I-STEM system. Specifically, I would like to know what actions have been taken by AICTE and the Directors of IITs to address these issues. Additionally, I am in need of several instruments, including FESEM, EDS, EBSD, 3D Profilometer, XPS, and AFM. Can these facilities be accessed through the I-STEM portal? If not, what alternative methods are available to obtain these resources? I would appreciate any comments or solutions regarding these concerns. It is crucial that the portal be monitored and maintained effectively to support the research community across India. 🙈 🙉 🙊 . I hope this post will wake up call for the AICTE, DST etc.......... #I-STEM, #AICTE
