Through participation in Habitat for Humanity India’s multi-year Project Nirmanshree initiative, 2,710 women in Maharashtra and Odisha improved their livelihoods and employment opportunities in housing-related trades. Funded by the European Union, Project Nirmanshree — a combination of Hindi and Sanskrit words that means "building women" — began in early January 2020 and was completed in December 2023. The initiative empowers marginalized women through construction and entrepreneurship development training, creating greater access to government services related to housing and advocacy work.

🐝 Project Shakti: Empowering Rural Women Through Beekeeping Since 2005, Project Shakti has been a beacon of hope for Scheduled Caste women in the Udham Nagar District of Uttarakhand. This initiative aims to break the chains of gender and caste prejudice, empowering women through the timeless art of beekeeping. A Path to Empowerment For these women, beekeeping is more than just a livelihood—it's a gateway to status, self-confidence, and economic independence. Through Schumacher Society's guidance, they've learned the intricate techniques of honey making, transforming their lives in profound ways. From Doubt to Determination Many of these women had never ventured beyond the confines of family and household duties. But with beekeeping, they've discovered newfound purpose and possibility. As they tend to their hives, they nurture not just bees, but their own dreams of a better future. Strength in Unity Project Shakti doesn't just provide skills—it fosters community and collaboration. By forming self-help groups (SHGs), women are empowered to support each other and collectively grow their beekeeping endeavors. Together, they've proven that solidarity is the key to success. From Local Success to National Recognition The impact of Project Shakti extends far beyond its 12 target villages. The success of these women beekeepers has caught the attention of the Government of India's Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). In a remarkable turn of events, a member of an SHG has now become a trainer, sharing her expertise with KVIC members. Join the Swarm of Change Project Shakti is more than just a project—it's a movement towards equality and empowerment. As we celebrate the achievements of these remarkable women, let's pledge to support initiatives that uplift and empower marginalized communities. Spread the buzz of empowerment and join us in transforming lives, one bee at a time! Please Comment For Better Reach! #ProjectShakti #EmpowerWomen #BeekeepingForChange 🌸🍯

“Breaking Chains: Empowering Women and Shattering Gender Barriers through the UKIJANI Project" One of the key results of the UKIJANI project is to empower women and shatter gender barriers. This is achieved by providing women with the necessary skills and resources to ensure they have equal access to district services and secure land tenure rights. The project promotes the security and legal recognition of women's customary rights of occupancy, thus supporting their empowerment and breaking down long-standing gender barriers. Find more details about Ukijani through an article on the link below: https://lnkd.in/eybfJzh3 #GenderEquality #Women land rights #Natural resource management.
