I recently checked back on a number of presentations I made in 2018/2019. - In 2018, at the digital health world congress, I presented a list of European countries leading the digital health revolution. The UK, Scandinavian countries and Holland featured but France? The revolution was only just beginning and now France has arguably become the leading player in digital health in Europe. Post pandemic, NHS waiting lists have grown uncomfortably but VCs have "bought up dozens of UK healthcare companies including ambulance fleets, eye-care clinics and diagnostics businesses over the past two years as they seek to cash in on spiraling NHS waiting lists." European companies always look to the US as a larger, more active market and there is still truth in this but markets move ever onwards. It also explores crucial aspects such as digital health governance, electronic health records, patient portals and analytics. 💻 In today's rapidly evolving digital health landscape, the relationship between patients and healthcare providers is undergoing a significant transformation. The collection of country profiles, based on the 2022 Survey on Digital Health in the WHO European Region, provides invaluable insights into this paradigm shift. 🔍 Analysing these profiles at the national level offers deep insights into how each country strategically navigates the digital health terrain. Moreover, it fosters shared learning, helps identify barriers, explores trends, and steers the agenda for innovation, contributing to the implementation of the regional digital health action plan for the WHO European Region. 🌱 These profiles aim to provide tailored support to Member States in their digital health transformation journey.
