Is your organization swimming in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) work? What are the principles that guide that work? Here’s a list of 5 principles from the 2021 CEO Blueprint for Racial Equity: 1. Strive to be a leader and focus on results. 2. Approach racial equity work as both a journey and a destination. 3. Center the people most harmed by racist practices, systems, and institutions. 4. Foster trust and collaboration with equity advocates and community leaders with lived experience. 5. Start reckoning and repair work within your company, communities, and society. #diversity #equity #inclusion

UNCONSCIOUS BIAS with #LBBEdutainment ‼️🏫 This week, we want to discuss the significance of unconscious bias in the workplace. As human beings, it's completely natural for us to formulate preferences or pre-conceptions in life that determine how we view our outer-world. These preferences and preconceptions, however, become harmful when they perpetuate exclusion or discrimination in your workplace. It's crucial to start by being honest with yourself. Self-analyze for any bias that may be contributing to a homogeneous work environment-- one that stifles innovation and growth. Combating bias to welcome in a more diverse set of personnel will only help your organization continue to learn and grow more effectively. How do you address unconscious bias in your own communities? It starts with us! 🌎✨ • • • • • #DEIB #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #Belonging #Empathy #CompanyCulture #Humanrights #CeaseFireNow #LiberationForAll #Equality #Value #Advocacy #CorporateCulture #Consultant #Businessowner #ColumbusOhio #UnitedStates #LBBEdutainment

Tonight, I had the privilege of attending a truly enlightening panel discussion on the dynamic landscape of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in 2024. It was an evening filled with insightful perspectives that left me not only informed but also reenergized in my commitment to advancing DEI in our ever-evolving world. 🔹 Key Takeaway 1: Equity is a Verb 🔹 One of the most profound insights was the recognition that equity is not just a noun but a verb. It's an action we must take daily to prioritize justice in our systems and practices. This reminder underscores the importance of not just talking about equity but actively working towards it in all we do. 🔹 Key Takeaway 2: Inclusion Demands Active Consideration 🔹 The panel also highlighted the critical role of active consideration in fostering inclusion. It's not enough to simply acknowledge diversity; we must intentionally design our programs and practices to be inclusive. 🔹 Key Takeaway 3: Leveraging Science Privilege for DEI Application 🔹 In the field of science, we have a unique opportunity to use our influence to raise awareness and prioritize DEI. By presenting the science of DEI through a biopsychosocial framework, we can help others understand the profound impact DEI practices have on our culture, workforce, and Return on Investments (ROI). This approach can be instrumental in engaging those who may not yet see the urgency or relevance of DEI in their work. 🙌 A Heartfelt Thank You 🙌 I want to express my deepest gratitude to the panel members (Donnebra McClendon, Sabrina Griffith Jackson, SHRM-SCP, CDP, Christopher Ph.D., and Carlini Rivers) for their wisdom and passion and Orlando Haynes 🎙️ for moderating an important conversation. Their insights have not only enriched my understanding of DEI but have also reignited my steadfast commitment to this important work. #DEI #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #FutureOfDEI #PanelDiscussion #Inspiration #Leadership #ChangeMakers

So as it turns out, leaders are further expanding their commitments to DEI. The rhetoric would have you believe that DEI is being abandoned, and there are certainly a number of organizations still engaging in performative DEI, but that's not the case most often. Here's to the leaders who: 🔹 Are quietly working on correcting their learned biases 🔹 Continue to show up honestly and vulnerably, even after slipping up 🔹 Ask for help 🔹 Speak up and speak out when their colleagues make racist, sexist, xenophobic, and other exclusionary remarks 🔹 what else? #DiversityMatters #InclusionMatters #DEI

"When we overcome biases by challenging them, we are far more likely to prevent them from affecting our decisions both at home and at work. By acting and implementing strategies to address unconscious bias among their employees to create a more positive culture, organisations also have the power to foster a culture that is more accepting and inclusive of everyone." Unconscious bias can lead to discrimination and inequality in our lives and work. Dorcas Barry BA (Hons) MSc, People Science Lead at inclusio, explains how we can avoid it. It's easy to overlook the subtle impacts of injustice, but its effects ripple through every facet of our lives, both personally and professionally. True progress is rooted in equity. When we strive to be just to all, we create environments where everyone feels valued and empowered. Justice is not just a legal concept; it's a moral compass guiding our interactions and decisions. It's about recognizing the inherent worth of every person, offering fair opportunities, and fostering an inclusive culture. Reflecting on this, it's evident that our greatest strength lies in unity. By championing fairness and equity, we break down barriers and build bridges. We cultivate workplaces where innovation flourishes, ideas are freely exchanged, and every voice is heard. Let's commit to being the catalysts of change. Let's be mindful of our actions and the impact they have on others. Together, we can create a world where fairness is the norm, not the exception. #Equity #JusticeForAll #Inclusion #Diversity #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #FairnessMatters #Community #Unity #Empowerment #SocialChange #ProfessionalGrowth #HumanRights #EthicalLeadership #Motivation #InspireChange #LinkedInCommunity VC: Copyright to the respective video owner
