🌍🍽️ World Food Day: A Time for Reflection, Gratitude, and Action On World Food Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on how fortunate many of us are. For most, having three meals a day sometimes more is something we don’t think twice about. We have the privilege of convenience, choice, and access to a wide variety of foods. But in another part of the world, millions of people struggle to secure even a single meal for the day. While we enjoy abundance, million people worldwide face hunger. It’s a stark reminder of how unevenly food is distributed. This day serves as a call to not only be grateful but also to act because no one should have to go hungry. Here are five ways we can contribute to a fairer and more sustainable food system: 1. Gratitude and Mindfulness: Let’s start by recognizing our privilege and being mindful of it. Appreciate each meal, and use it as a reminder to help those less fortunate. 🙏 2. Cut Down on Food Waste: Globally, one-third of all food produced is wasted, yet millions go hungry. Simple actions like meal planning, buying only what we need, and donating surplus food can have a major impact. 🌱 3. Support Local Farmers and Businesses: Buying local strengthens community food security and reduces the carbon footprint. Plus, it supports the livelihoods of those who work hard to grow our food. 🚜 4. Advocate for Food Justice: Use your voice to support initiatives that ensure equitable access to food. Whether it’s pushing for better policies or supporting organizations that fight hunger, advocacy matters. 📢 5. Get Involved by Donating or Volunteering: Whether it’s your time, money, or resources, giving back can make a significant difference. Support food banks, shelters, or community kitchens. Every bit counts. 🙌 As social media marketers, we have the power to raise awareness and inspire others to take meaningful action. This World Food Day, let’s use our platforms to advocate for food security, sustainability, and zero hunger. It’s not just about food—it’s about equity, dignity, and survival. We are fortunate. Let’s pay it forward.

September is Hunger Action Month. One in four adults in the US experienced food insecurity in 2023, and that number has been going up over the past few years. But did you know that food security is more than just handing out meals? It’s actually eight different outcomes, ranging from a meal, to eating more healthfully, to improving the food distribution network. It’s critical that we get specific about which of those we’re solving for, so we can be realistic about what it takes and how much it costs. Learn how to get precise with your food security outcomes in our new white paper. Impact Genome #HungerActionMonth #philanthropy #socialimpact #foodsecurity #outcomes #hungerrelief

Embracing Hunger Action Month for a Better Future At just 12 years old, living in a new part of the U.S., I remember wondering why our cupboards were empty and the refrigerator was bare. I didn't have the words to express what I was feeling then—just a sinking feeling in my stomach, a quiet but desperate fear for my family. Years later, I can still feel the ache of hunger and the blanket of fear that weighed on my young mind. I was in survival mode before I’d even reached my teens. Thankfully, kindness and generosity existed within my community. I'll never forget the day I came home from school to find a few bags of food waiting on our front porch. It felt like I had won the lottery. Unfortunately, my story is far from unique. In 2023, over 47 million Americans lived in food-insecure households—that's more than 13% of the population or 1 in 7 households struggling with hunger. So how can we each make a difference? By supporting impactful initiatives during Hunger Action Month, including those we champion at HelloFresh. If you’re a HelloFresh customer, you can participate in our Beyond the Box program, which allows you to donate any of your weekly boxes to a family in need. Additionally, with 1 in 5 children in the U.S. facing food insecurity, we’ve partnered with No Kid Hungry and enriched our Meals with Meaning and LimeAid programs. September is Hunger Action Month, and I encourage everyone—individuals and organizations alike—to embrace this opportunity. Together, we can help ensure that healthy meals reach food-insecure families and children who need them most. Imagine being fed excessively, not for health or joy, but to gain weight for someone else’s benefit. This is the reality for countless male goats raised for their flesh. Their lives revolve around forceful growth, with little regard for their natural behavior or well-being. The focus isn’t on their existence, but on how much meat they can yield. It’s time we question this cycle and rethink our food choices. Every being deserves to live for themselves, not just as a resource for others. #rethinkingfood #questiontraditions #kindchoices #goatsarefriends #ethicaleating #plantbasedliving #veganawareness #choosecompassion #respectallbeings #sustainablechoices

Encouraging a healthy community through locally grown food. We have noticed an abundance of fresh produce going to waste, so we started the #InclusiveTreecycleProgram to preserve and share the goodness. We have collected so much produce that we started #InclusiveJuice and #InclusiveTreats to savor what we couldn't eat. Two ways to help the community: Share your abundance of fresh produce. Order your juice and treats today. Be a part of the Inclusive Movement. #CheersFriday #JuiceMonday #InclusiveLifeStyle #ShareYourAbundance #PlaceYourOrder #YouDeserveIt #BeKind #BePresent #BeInclusive @nicolewithinclusive
