You may have decided the message and the purpose of your charity film, but how do you decide who is going to tell their story? The truth is you don't have to decide straightaway and the storyteller may change as your project goes on anyways. 🤷 One thing we've learnt through charity filmmaking is to be flexible! Look at all of your charity stories from all angles and you can experiment with different interpretation’s of your message. Ultimately, this will give you a better chance of choosing that perfect story! College completely failed in teaching me how to make a global impact. So I spent over 500 hours studying legendary filmmakers and their work from around the world. Then, I distilled what I learned into a simple framework: Global Film Exhibition. But unlike college, this won't cost you a fortune. Here it is for free: Global Film Exhibition is not just about diverse films from around the world. 🌍 We are about being part of a greater cause. A portion of every purchase supports LifeLine Service Dogs, a noble organization with a mission close to Amanda and Steve's hearts. 🐾 LifeLine Service Dogs goes beyond by training service dogs at no cost for veterans and children, offering them an assistance canine that brings comfort, independence, and support. What I want the audience to take away from this film is that life doesn’t always follow a moral compass. Like in the real world, you can never fully know what someone is thinking or what drives their actions. The story reflects that uncertainty—where motives are unclear and the truth isn’t easily defined. Click here to donate and learn more about the film: https://lnkd.in/gZddNwZ8 #NoMoralCompass #WesternMystery #RealWorldTruths #UncertainMotives #FilmmakingJourney #SupportIndieFilm #ComplexCharacters

Over the last 6 years, our film challenge has advanced the careers of hundreds of women and non-binary filmmakers. We give filmmakers the opportunity to collaborate with a new network, access the best equipment, produce high-end material, gain credits, and get into festivals. In other words, we remove the financial barriers so that women and nonbinary filmmakers can focus on telling their stories and advancing their careers. It has never been easy to make this film challenge free for participants. It takes months of planning, resource gathering, volunteer training, and more. Now more than ever, we need community support to make this film challenge happen. Diversity, equity, and inclusion programs are under siege. There are lawsuits targeting these initiatives; companies are worried about sponsoring these programs; and entire DEI departments and budgets are getting cut. In a post-strike world, everyone is tightening their budgets, and equity is not making the cut. We are not going to let Hollywood backslide. Equity is not a trend; our lives depend on it. Already, Western Digital, Cinelease, and The Tremaine Foundation lent their support to the film challenge, but we need to raise $20,000 this week in order to continue our rollout. We are committed to hosting our film challenge this October, which means our applications are set to open at the end of July. In just a few short weeks, we will need to know that our funding is secure so that we can bring this program to our community. Whether you’re a past participant who wants this opportunity to be accessible to future participants or you simply believe in this mission, now is the time to make a donation. Will you be a part of this movement? Please make a tax-deductible donation today! https://lnkd.in/e7Tm5G-Y

Worried about the authenticity of your charity film? At The Saltways, we ensure that we capture your story authentically and organically. One of the ways we do this is to not use using slow motion. Less production. More truth. We also embrace the unexpected, which allows the raw truth to emerge, taking the pressure off of you and leading to a more enaging film.
