Global Cooksafe Coalition’s Post

We love this! In Denver, Colorado children are learning how to cook food sustainably through a Masterchef-style competition. Kids as young as 6 will compete against each other to cook the tastiest dishes. And, of course, all of the food will be cooked on induction. “We actually can get more heat in the home cooking with induction than we can with even gas,” Chef Andrew Forlines, who works with the city on cooking electrification, told ABC 7 Denver. “So we're able to have high efficiency, directed, consistent, precise heating. It's also going to be highly efficient and carbon free.” “This technology is tested and trusted. It's been around for over 100 years, but it's just now starting to gain traction here in the states,” Forlines added. “Europe is much further ahead with the market share. And so we really just want to get everyone used to it, and also de-stigmatize the idea of electric cooking for home cooking, when people think of gas being the best.” The event will also solicit feedback from the community about what kind of rebates or subsidies would help them electrify their home kitchens. It’s a win-win for everyone involved! Read more about the competition at the link below👇
