As the first "Monday in May" approaches-or what is otherwise known as "The Met Gala, " the theme of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” will be THE most opportune time for some of the world's most influential faces to put fashion sustainability in the spotlight. I hope they highlight WHY sustainability matters. WHY great quality (proper vintage) is better value due to its longetivity. WHY circularity matters. As the NY Times article highlights, this event could be "one that could function as a requiem, a warning sign and a reminder of the fundamental importance of regeneration. It’s pretty much an ode to nature,” said Andrew Bolton, curator-in-charge of the Costume Institute and the man behind the idea. “Nature as a metaphor for fashion and its fragility and its ephemerality.” WHO will make the best statement?
