How my last 6 weeks have been! I've had the opportunity to work closely with 14 organisations in Nigeria, the United States, and the United Kingdom over the last six weeks, carefully developing social media marketing strategies to increase each organisation's visibility, engagement, and sales. So far, this experience has shown me that the foundation for your brand's growth is a well-thought-out content strategy. I decided to share one of the things I have employed in this whole process. The 3 most important benefits I think that your company should get from running social media accounts 1. They should assist you in learning important details about the preferences, interests, and demographics of your audience. Your marketing campaigns, product development, and content strategy can all benefit from this information. 2. If you have a website, they ought to increase traffic to it, or produce leads that you can close deals with. 3. They ought to offer outstanding customer service. For your social media channels, a well-defined content plan should increase actions and decrease queries. Feel free to reach out to me if you are looking for a competent team to handle your social media platforms. #gideonbenseth #socialmediamarketing #socialmediamanagers #contentmarketing

When it comes to marketing your brand, you have to put these factors into consideration: 1. Audience 2. Information Voice 3. Type of Social Media Platform Audience: A 65 years old person would perceive an information differently from a 23 years old person. So you have to convey your information in such a way that it resonates with your target audience. Information Voice: After defining your target audience, the way you SPEAK to your target audience matters. You may try to convey your message in a graphic format or video format. It could be in the form of a skit or using a picture that showcases a trending issue. Type of Social Media Platform: This is where I feel we get it wrong. Let's be real most of us hate Ads. However, there are some ADs that your audience can get hooked on. Bear in mind that your social media apps have a particular algorithm that tailors people's pages differently. For instance I want to advertise my travel brand on X (Twitter) Let's call it GO FAST. We all know that X is a place where everyone is open to share and quick to criticize and so the gist is always hot. I could start by saying " Remember that day you were trapped on the mainland bridge, cursing the traffic? Leave your house at 7am, get to your destination before 12pm with GO FAST #EscapeTraffic". I could also attach a skit video to this tweet. Next thing your audience can have opinions like "In this Lagos, leave by 7am and get there before 12pm". It starts to stir up opinions, conversations. People would want to try it to see if GO FAST can beat Lagos traffic. And there you have it, you can now grow your brand. Thanks to me and your marketing strategy. #marketing #brand #business

My nieces Elizabeth Sackey and Jane were internet savvy and exposed those days when social media was quickly becoming popular in Ghana. Lizzy used to run a blog and taught me how to create my first blog on Blogger. I used to see them use Facebook and would be quick to tell then I wasn’t interested when they asked me to just give it a try. I think that was around 2008. Thankfully after brushing them off several times I was quick enough to realize the goldmine in social media and took advantage of that opportunity. Those times I was fortunate to learn from experts like Maximus Ametorgoh and Nana K. Duah of Oxygen, oh how I miss Ob Abenser’s Fashionista initiatives those days. I found myself in the tech space during this period so it was quite easy for me to grasp some of the basics in online marketing quickly. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many brands and it’s been fulfilling. Facebook was the very first platform I started using to test my business prowess. Back in the days I used to visit boutiques in Dansoman , take pictures and share online so as and when people order I pick the item up and deliver. Thanks to people like Maxine Nana Ohenewaa Asiedu who gave me that opportunity to do business with them. I will encourage every business to set up at least one social media page where they consistently talk about their business and share valuable content with their audience. For now social media platforms are free to set up, we have no idea how it’s going to run in the future. The best you can do is take advantage of it and make the most out of it for your personal brand and business. #socialmedia #myexperiences #digitalmarketing

After a long hiatus from my business platforms, I'm starting to find my voice again. 💡 Also, this video is a typical example of being a content creator for other brands and businesses and not your own 😂🫡 💡 Here's those stats I promised you 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 In 2024, South Africa's internet penetration rate is at 72%, translating to over 43.9 million internet users, a 5.2% year-on-year increase. Of these, 29 million are active social media users (48% penetration). That’s 29 million potential customers you’re missing because someone once told you "social media doesn't work." If you own a business, you *must* have an active social media presence. Right now, there are 22.5 million eCommerce users in South Africa, with an additional 4.3 million expected to shop online by 2025. The average online spend is predicted to be R4,200 per person. Stop missing out! This PSA is brought to you by The Social Light SA. At The Social Light SA, we provide a full-service, customized digital marketing solution tailored to your business needs. #thesocialightSA #socialmedia #marketing #contentmarketing #digitalmarketing #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #digitalmarketingagency #socialmarketing #customerrelationships #facebook

Unleashing the Social Media Powerhouse for Ethiopian Businesses The Ethiopian business landscape is buzzing with social media activity, but are you using the right platforms to cultivate loyal customers? While trendy dances and fun videos on TikTok might capture attention, a one-size-fits-all approach won't build a loyal customer base. Imagine a legion of brand ambassadors, your most enthusiastic customers, spreading the word about your product or service. That's the power of fostering loyalty! But is the ever-changing world of TikTok the key to unlocking this magic? Tailoring Your Social Media Strategy for Success The answer lies in understanding the unique DNA of your business. The type of product or service you offer dictates the social media platform that will resonate most effectively with your target audience. Here's where data becomes your compass: The Global Giant: Facebook ([link in bio!]) Despite a slight dip in Ethiopian users, Facebook remains the undisputed heavyweight of social media. While it might not be your primary platform in the long run, leveraging its marketing potential is still a strategic move. Think of it as a gateway – a place to capture attention and convert users to more focused platforms like Telegram. Instagram: A Visual Playground for Targeted Engagement Instagram is a feast for the eyes. If your business revolves around aesthetics – think fashion, food, travel, or even handcrafted goods – this platform is a goldmine. High-quality photos and captivating stories can showcase your offerings in an engaging way, attracting a target audience who appreciates beautiful visuals and immersive storytelling. Telegram: Building Communities Beyond Messaging In Ethiopia, Telegram goes beyond being a simple chat app. It thrives as a platform for community building. Imagine converting customers you've connected with on other platforms to your dedicated Telegram channel or group. Here, you can cultivate a loyal following through exclusive content, special promotions, and fostering a two-way conversation. This fosters a sense of belonging and strengthens the bond between your brand and your customers. Remember: Spreading yourself too thin dilutes your efforts. Choose the platforms that resonate most with your target audience and the nature of your business. By focusing your energy on the right platforms, you'll cultivate a legion of loyal brand advocates who will champion your brand and fuel your success. Which social media platforms are most effective for your businesses in Ethiopia? (Please your business type) Share your thoughts in the comments below! #Ethiopia #SocialMediaMarketing #TargetedApproach #GrowYourBusiness
