A few weeks ago, I walked out of the CMA office in Canary Wharf for the last time, leaving the Competition and Markets Authority after more than 7 years. It has been a remarkable journey, which has truly enriched my expertise both as a lawyer and as a person. I entered the old office in Victoria House for the first time in July 2017. Since then the CMA moved to the brilliant office in Canary Wharf, navigated post-Brexit adjustments, a global pandemic, and acquired significant new powers and functions. Throughout this time, I was never bored: from advising on investigations and evidence gathering, to conducting complex CAT litigation, collaborating with international agencies, and mentoring brilliant trainees, my time at the CMA seriously delivered in terms of quality work. I am profoundly grateful to those who shared this journey with me: sharp barristers and judges, dedicated experts and witnesses, tenacious opponent solicitors, and above all, many extraordinary CMA colleagues, whose tireless commitment to the public interest has been a true inspiration. Now, I am excited to embark on new and thrilling adventures. But in true digital entertainment fashion, I’ll save the rest for another post—stay tuned!
Wishing you all the best for your future endeavours....
