As I listen to the voices of women that echo through time and space, I'm struck by the diversity of their tones, messages, and intentions. Among them I discern three distinct but complementary themes: rage, wisdom, and encouragement. The first voice resounds with fury against the patriarchal structures that perpetuate oppression and inequality. Yet, amidst the clamour of rage, a second voice emerges – one of wisdom and reflection. As Ruth Bader Ginsburg rightly said, "Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception." Advocating for women is not about man-hating; it's about equality and progress for all. Empowering women is not just a moral imperative; it's a strategic investment in the future of any nation. Women empowerment leads to more equitable, prosperous, and sustainable societies, benefiting everyone. The societal impact of empowering women extends far beyond individual lives. Men and women are not inherently different, but societal norms often lead to harmful behaviors and attitudes that impact us all. Sadly, stories of women being killed due to misogyny and patriarchy are still too common. It begs the question, what goes through the minds of those who commit such crimes? Empowering women is crucial, but equally important is educating men to be respectful and aware. By being the change and fostering mutual respect, we can build a more inclusive and safe society for everyone. Let's strive to be part of the solution, not the problem. -Aarya Thakare
