Donate today! As we kick-off the season of giving with #givingtuesday just a week away, we're reminded of the incredible strength that comes when we are all united. We call on our supporters for help particularly in the wake of the recent presidential election. Many of our patients, clients, and staff, including DACA recipients, LGBTQIA+ individuals, women, and those in mixed-status families, are now living with fear. Gardner Health Services is here to support and protect each person, unwaivering in our commitment to medical and mental healthcare for all individuals, regardless of immigration status and life standing. Stand with us and donate to “Strength in Unity” and be a part of a movement that supports healthcare access for everyone and a community that protects all people. Together, we can be the hope and strength to those we serve. Hey everyone! This #GivingTuesday, I wanted to share a bit about the work I've been doing with The American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH), and what donating to us via our Givebutter page (https://lnkd.in/eUT5XG8B) means for us as an organization. AIDPH was founded with the belief that everyone deserves access to dental healthcare. Oral status has far-reaching impacts on overall physical and mental health - but marginalized communities often face overwhelming barriers to accessing treatment. To bridge the gap, AIDPH produces research on pressing issues in dental health, advocates for an improved dental health landscape, and educates dental professionals, policymakers, advovacy groups, and beyond on how we can work together to make sure the system serves *every* American. I've supported communications outreach for a number of exciting initiatives since I've joined the team, including: - A study on the state of dental care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Tennessee with Harmony Health - A report and summit for stakeholders in Iowa to create a roadmap for addressing veteran dental disparities with Delta Dental of Iowa - A webinar series exploring issues related to oral health in rural communities - Our third annual LGBTQIA+ Oral Health Week campaign - Our annual Colloquium conference, which brings stakeholders across the country to share and learn from each other's research, work, and expertise And lots more! Especially for a small nonprofit, securing donations for operations - the day-to-day, non-program-specific duties that keep an organization like ours running - can be quite the challenge. As we make our foray into fundraising, sending any gift this holiday season, whether it's $10 or $100, will help us continue in our vision of a justice-based oral health system at a time when disinformation is rampant, and funding for necessary healthcare infrastructure is increasingly under threat. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk! Feel free to ask me any questions about the work we do, and give today (https://lnkd.in/eUT5XG8B) to make a stand that dental healthcare is a human right, not a privilege.
Dental and public health advocates still have a valuable opportunity TODAY to support AIDPH’s mission of advancing justice and equity in oral health by donating to https://loom.ly/3ThvMUc. #GivingTuesday is one of the most important fundraising days for #nonprofits around the nation. By making a donation to AIDPH, you’ll help raise a voice for communities that have been silenced in oral health, and make a personal contribution toward meaningful advocacy, educational, and research initiatives. Today, we invite you to consider: 🌟 Setting up a $20 monthly recurring donation to support advocacy for veteran, LGBTQIA+, rural, and disability communities. 🌟 Giving a one-time gift of $50 or more to support research, education, and advocacy that advances oral health justice for historically excluded and marginalized communities. 🌟 Sharing our donation page (https://loom.ly/3ThvMUc) with your friends and colleagues to amplify our impact.

As we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate, it's important to remember the significance of humility and genuine connection. When reaching out to help individuals facing economic challenges, consider leaving your camera at home. While documenting acts of charity can inspire others and raise awareness, it's equally essential to prioritize the dignity and privacy of those we aim to support. Sometimes, the most meaningful interactions occur when we focus solely on the needs of others, without the distraction of capturing the moment. Let's continue to extend a helping hand with sincerity and compassion, respecting the inherent worth and dignity of every individual we encounter. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need, one genuine connection at a time. #Charity #Humility #Compassion #MakingADifference #SocialResponsibility #HumanitarianAid #CommunitySupport #SocialImpact #Empathy #Kindness #GiveBack #Philanthropy #Dignity #SocialGood #HelpingHand #CommunityEngagement #Inclusion #Solidarity #SupportingOthers #ActOfKindness

We recently asked our community: What is the primary focus of your 2024 charitable giving? Education and personal connections topped the list, followed by poverty relief, religious causes, and health-related efforts. Some members highlighted the arts, climate initiatives, or admitted they’re still working on a plan. Charitable giving is deeply personal, shaped by values and experiences. From clean water access to supporting veterans and refugees, our members shared how they’re making an impact. What drives your generosity? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. At Long Angle, we’re building a community where conversations like this inspire action and impact. Curious about joining? Details are in the comments. #Philanthropy #CharitableGiving #YearEndGiving

Help Us Create Homes for Women and Children Affected by Violence 🏠 💜 In the last 3 years (1st of July 2020 to 30th April 2024), we at the Hobart Women's Shelter have witnessed a disturbing increase in the demand for our services. Over 4379 women and their children have sought emergency accommodation from us - and we have only been able to support 929 of those women and children. That’s 8 in 10 people we have had to turn away due to always being at capacity. Tasmania’s housing crisis is particularly damaging for women and children. Women and children are staying longer at our Shelter as there are limited affordable housing options available. Unfortunately, many of these women and their children will stay in, or return to, violent situations where they are at risk of experiencing further trauma, injury, and in some cases death. The number one reason why women will not leave a violent situation is the fear of being homeless. In 2022, we embarked on an ambitious project to build 25 new long-term homes to create additional housing pathways and help alleviate the bottleneck in our service. We’ve completed our first two homes, showcased here, and received two more land donations for future development. While we have achieved so much already, there is still a long way to go. You can help us create beautiful, safe homes and housing pathways for women and children. Buy a Brick today and help build someone's future. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible. https://lnkd.in/gHMz5Bja #genderbasedviolence #genderbasedviolenceawareness #hobart #tasmania #nonprofitleadership #philanthropy #EOFY #advocacy #endviolence #homelessness #donatetoday #communityengagement #corporateresponsibility #socialimpact

🌟 Standing Together: essence Cares Team supports women’s shelter with donations 🌟 This year, our essence Cares Team set out to make a difference by increasing our product donations, with a focus on empowering women. Led by Tatiana Z., we reached out to the “Frauenhaus Nurdan-Eker” women’s shelter to see how we could help. We discovered that many women arrive at the shelter with little to nothing, especially lacking essential hygiene products. To support them, we donated over 500 items, including hygiene essentials and some of our favorite products like mascara and gloss. Our goal is to not only provide necessities but also to bring a sense of comfort and care to those in need. We are committed to continuing our support for women’s shelters, recognizing them as vital safe spaces for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. Last year, we launched our initiative “cosnova says NO – united to end violence against women” focusing on standing against violence, discrimination, and inequality. Through this initiative, we aim to raise awareness and provide financial support for women in need. A 100,000 Euro donation to a relief fund benefiting women who cannot afford to stay in shelters across Germany was just the beginning. By supporting women's shelters, we strive to offer not only financial support and physical necessities but also a message of solidarity and empowerment.🧡 #essenceCares #SocialInitiatives #CommunitySupport #WomensShelter #ProductDonation #cosnova #cosnovaSaysNo
