Finding ways to decarbonise the ‘hard-to-abate’ sectors of our economy, such as long-distance transport and industrial manufacturing, will be a crucial element in Australia’s path towards net-zero. But how can this be done? At EE Australia, we convert clean, renewable energy from wind and solar farms into sustainable products such as green hydrogen or e-methanol, a process known as ‘Power-to-X (PtX)’. These products can then be used to electrify important industrial processes, such as steel or cement production, or to sustainably fuel shipping, aviation, and other forms of long-distance transport. To illustrate the powers of PtX, here, an excellent model created by our colleague Alexander Reumert shows how e-methanol produced at European Energy’s PtX Kassø plant can be used to greenify shipping. As we scale up our PtX capabilities here in Australia, we’re excited to see plants like this contribute to the country’s clean energy transition! #powertox #renewableenergy #greenhydrogen

🌍♻️ Proud to announce: Recorra is powered by 100% renewable electricity! 🌟 In honour of World Earth Day, I wanted to highlight the leaps and bounds Recorra has made to minimise our environmental footprint. 🌱 For the past few years, we've secured REGO certificates (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin) for all our offices, which ensure that the energy powering our operations comes from renewable sources like solar, wind, or biofuel. They're regulated by OFGEM, the UK's energy regulator, meaning they're greenwashing-proof. By investing in REGO certificates, we're not just offsetting our energy consumption; we're actively contributing to the growth of renewable energy in the grid. This initiative promotes increased production by reducing the demand for fossil fuels. But we're not stopping there. We're taking direct action by installing solar panels at our facilities to power our sorting machinery, further reducing our reliance on non-renewable energy sources. Stay tuned this week as we share more about our commitment to environmental sustainability across all our channels! 🌎💚 #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #EarthDay2024 #Recorra

Just read an insightful piece by Josu Jon Imaz de Repsol in La Vanguardia about the importance of the industrial sector and its role in economic stability. I couldn't agree more with his point on the value industry brings by creating stable, well-paid jobs—industries, especially energy, are vital to our economic future. https://lnkd.in/du-XDQvm La Voz De Galicia S.A. [online article] However, I believe that energy independence, especially for industrial sectors, can (and should be) be accelerated through renewable heat solutions. By adopting the right decentralized renewable heat strategies, industries can reduce reliance on external energy sources (fossil fuels) and strengthen national economic resilience. On the topic of decarbonization, while I agree that a balanced approach is essential, the transition to cleaner energy can—and should—be faster than many traditional energy companies are prepared for. Several renewable heat technologies are already mature and ready to scale. With the right support, industries can begin implementing them now, accelerating both economic growth and environmental sustainability. The key is not to see this as an either/or debate but to recognize that clean energy solutions, particularly in renewable heat, offer industries a chance to thrive in a decarbonized future. Let’s connect if you're interested in exploring how renewable heat solutions can transform your business. #RenewableEnergy #IndustrialDecarbonization #EnergyIndependence #CleanEnergySolutions #Sustainability #RenewableHeat #EnergyTransition #GreenIndustry
