1moTo effectively strengthen Africa's capital markets, ARSP II should prioritize enhancing regulatory capacity and harmonizing frameworks across the continent. Capacity-building initiatives for regulators will ensure they are well-equipped to enforce compliance, protect investors, and uphold ethical standards. Regional coordination, supported by advanced regulatory technologies (RegTech), can streamline compliance processes and facilitate cross-border investment. Additionally, adopting robust governance standards and introducing whistleblower protections can further bolster investor confidence. Empowering investors through education and building efficient reporting frameworks will enhance transparency while engaging local pension and sovereign wealth funds can help build market liquidity.
