A new lobby alliance consisting of tech giants like IBM, Meta and Nvidia, smaller startups, and VC companies like Andreessen Horowitz seems to be successful in changing the climate in Washington regarding AI towards more acceptance of AI and the argument that China would profitize most from strict AI regulation. This comes after several month where the dangers of AI or even existential risks caused by AI were stressed by other lobbying groups often supported by organizations like Open Philanthropy (financed largely by billionaire Facebook co-founder and Asana CEO Dustin Moskovitz). I haven't been that impressed with the majority of DeAI (Decentralized AI), but I'm excited about what Sahara AI has accomplished on the knowledge agent front. I'm really excited to see Pantera and Polychain's most recent $43M funding. Sahara will be at Token2049; check them out in Singapore. I've closely followed the evolution of blockchain's potential in decentralized AI. Our early investment in blockchain enabling decentralized data labeling in 2018 laid the groundwork for our support of Sahara AI (which it has taken to the next level with its knowledge agents). Sahara AI’s platform, particularly its handling of data privacy and compensation through blockchain, enables real-world adoption of DeAI. 🇦🇪🇸🇦🇶🇦 In the final piece of our token use cases series, we highlight how the Middle East's proactive regulatory approach demonstrates that localized efforts and strong public - private partnerships can drive global progress. The Middle East, particularly Dubai, continues to set the pace in global blockchain innovation. It serves as a prime example of how optimism and collaboration between public and private sectors can drive transformative progress. This approach is laying the groundwork for significant advancements in blockchain and Web3, with clear regulatory frameworks that attract institutional interest and accelerate mainstream adoption. We explore how countries like the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia are leading the way with comprehensive regulatory frameworks and practical use cases in stablecoins, DeFi, and payments. These frameworks are giving institutions the clarity they need to innovate, scale, and lead in areas like e-commerce, gaming, and AI. The McKinsey analysis is good but misses two major blockers yet standing in the way of wide spread tokenization adoption, the dearth of tokenized capital and lack of marketplaces with sufficient liquidity to support real market activity beyond the trickles of early adopters. The tokenized capital issue is potentially being solved by the rise of tokenized deposit networks but still requires a solution to the last mile problem of connecting that tokenized capital on private networks to marketplaces on public networks. (The Accumulate team has an answer ) Existing public markets do not have the liquidity to handle real world tokenization. Inherent in the design of smart contracts putting the data and code together in a single package are limitations on the ability to list the same token on multiple marketplace which is required to provide the needed liquidity.
