Putting up shelves or curtains? Here are a few simple tips from @diytomm on how to identify different wall materials and what fixings to use on them. For plasterboard it's a good idea to spread the weight as much as possible, so fixings that open behind the board like Corefix Spike will be ideal. For solid walls like masonry, wall plugs are a good choice (Corefix One can also handle lighter loads in plasterboard!) Choosing the right substrate is key to a successful metal roofing system. Whether you’re using open framing or solid decking, the substrate not only supports your roof panels, but also ensures long-lasting performance against the elements. Open Framing Substrates: Great for structural-style panels that span open spaces and support their own weight. Solid Decking Substrates: Provide a sturdy base for non-structural panels needing extra support. Interesting Vinyl Deck Project in South Cambie! 🛠️ Here's a vinyl deck on a Vancouver Special in South Cambie. We're replacing it due to rot. The original construction has hidden bolts behind a cedar soffit, which complicates things. 😟🚧 Our plan: cut off the bolts, hammer them through, and install new ones. We might need to remove the cedar soffit for proper fastening. 💪 What are your thoughts? Any ideas or tips? Comment below! 👇 #SouthCambie #VancouverSpecial #OutdoorLiving

Looking for an exterior stabilising solution? Look no further than Peel Stop. Peel Stop® is a clear, flexible bridging sealer for surfaces where peeling, flaking, dusting or chalking is a problem. Use indoors or out to form a breathable membrane over questionable or faulty substrates. A clear sealer, Peel Stop® works like nothing else to stop peeling problems on old or new surfaces. 'In my honest opinion, Zinsser Peel Stop is the only stabilising solution you need to consider for exterior masonry. It’s so easy to use and performs better than anything else out there. If there is a better product, I certainly haven’t used it yet' - The Decorators Forum UK https://lnkd.in/ew3sgDbe
