Emerald is a captivating green gemstone that belongs to the beryl family. Renowned for its rich, vibrant color, emeralds are often associated with luxury and elegance. Their deep green hue comes from trace amounts of chromium and vanadium, and the most prized stones display a vivid, saturated color without too many inclusions. In terms of quality, emeralds are often evaluated based on their color, clarity, cut, and carat weight. Unlike other gemstones, inclusions (often referred to as "jardin") are common in emeralds and can sometimes enhance their character. The best emeralds are sourced from Colombia, but notable deposits can also be found in Zambia, Brazil, and other countries. Read More ..... https://flauntasia.com

Did you know that since the 1880s, opals have been known as the “lucky gem from the lucky country,” and are Australia’s National Gemstone? But their charm was recognized long before. In the first century A.D., the Roman author Pliny the Elder described opals in his Natural History, saying: "Made up of the glories of the most precious gems, to describe them is a matter of inexpressible difficulty. For there is amongst them the gentler fire of the ruby, there is the rich purple of the amethyst, there is the sea-green of the emerald, and all shining together in an indescribable union. Others, by an excessive heightening of their hues equal all the colours of the painter, others the flame of burning brimstone, or of a fire quickened by oil." Opals are not only beautiful but carry a rich legacy that continues to inspire the luxury and gemstone industries today. #Opal #QueenOfGems #Australia #GemstoneHistory #Luxury

Coral is a fascinating gemstone that has captivated civilizations for centuries. Unlike traditional gemstones that are mineral-based, coral is formed from the skeletons of marine polyps, making it a unique organic gem. Its vibrant colors, ranging from deep reds to soft pinks and whites, have made it a prized material for jewelry and decorative objects. One of the most notable properties of coral is its durability. Despite being composed of calcium carbonate, the same material as pearls and seashells, coral is relatively hard and can be polished to a high luster. This, combined with its striking appearance, has made coral a popular choice for jewelry makers throughout history. Coral is primarily found in tropical and subtropical waters, where the conditions are optimal for the growth of marine polyps. The most prized and sought-after coral is known as precious coral, which is found at depths of 10 to 300 meters in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Italy and Spain. Other varieties of coral, such as bamboo coral and black coral, are found in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Despite its popularity, coral faces numerous threats, primarily from human activities. Overfishing, pollution, and climate change have all taken their toll on coral reefs around the world, leading to a decline in coral populations. As a result, there are now strict regulations in place to protect coral reefs and ensure their long-term survival. #coral #coralgemstone #Gemstone

Did you know that Dolomite White Marble has more than 600 years of history? 😱 Many of the columns of Ancient Greece and Eastern Rome, as well as the famous historical theatre and some of the buildings, are made of #Dolomite. One of the reasons is because this marble is able to absorb moisture from the air and has antibacterial properties, as well as being a very #durablestone. 👉🏼 Nowadays, its light #grayish and #brown veining brings #luxury and #luminosity to different spaces, from rooms, stairs, corridors, etc. They are very carefully processed, as they are very fine-grained natural #stones that stand out for their #whiteness and homogeneous shape, which gives them a unique #naturalness that cannot be achieved with any other artificial derivative ✨

The enchanting gemstone ‘Aquamarine' brings whispers of sea hues to the fore. Would you want to know more? Ensuring a large inventory across the globe, the most precious cuts of ocean-bright Aquamarine come from the Latin landscapes of Brazil, while some notable discoveries have occurred in the scorched corners of Kenya as well. Everything about this crystal swirls around water, from its name and colourings to the lores linked to it. A marriage of the two Latin words aqua, simply meaning ‘water’, and marina, which means ‘of the sea’, the gem's name is a direct reference to its colour. The gemstone's hardness, ranked between 7.5 and 8 Mohs, and a varying range of transparency makes this sweet spot popular with designers, artists, and carvers, who often opt for sculpting fantasy cuts, ornamental objects, and displaying fine detail with the stone. Much like the element of water that cleanses and rejuvenates, Aquamarine invokes the tranquillity of its namesake; it is why we flee to beaches and fall into a sweet calm at the sound of waves. It is the ocean turned from water into stone, with its sparkling and vibrant hues exuding utmost serenity. #aquamarine #gemstone #gem #brazilgems #kenyagems #gemstonemining #watergem #bluegem #ethicalmining

Venice became significant in the gemstone trade during the Middle Ages, especially between the 13th and 15th centuries. During this time, the Serenissima Republic of Venice was a dominant maritime and commercial power in the Mediterranean, with close trade ties to the East, particularly the Byzantine Empire and Arab territories. #gemstones https://lnkd.in/duwHcrxf

Map of Nicaragua Augusto Silva 2022 This map is made on acrylic on tuno. This is a work that, in addition to being aesthetic, is didactic, illustrating the geography of Nicaragua in a simple and yet playful way, from its geographical features, hydrography and flora and fauna. As this artkwork was initially commissioned for the kid's bedroom, one can imagine the family playing with the children, taking pieces of the map and doing trivias or riddles. -The tunu or tuno is a kind of vegetal fabric obtained by extracting part of the bark of the tunu or rubber tree (Castilla tunu). This kind of tree grows in the rainforest of the Nicaraguan Caribbean coast, where natives have been using tuno for clothing and more, since ancient times.- Discover the allure of Nicaragua right from the comfort of Villa Cielo G-10. Our prized Map of Nicaragua isn't just a decoration; it's a passage through the vibrant heart and soul of our land. Experience more than a stay, immerse yourself in a world where luxury meets cultural richness. #LIR #LuxuryInternationalRentals #luxuryVacationRentals #LuxuryVillaRental #VillaCieloG10 #CulturalEscape #TravelInStyle #ArtfulLiving
