About us
The Lagos Gold and Gemstone Conference highlights economic opportunities in gold, gemstones & jewelry sector, for investors & Local Jewelers. Our Gold and Gemstones Conference & Exhibition (GGCE) brings to the foreground economic opportunities in the gold, gemstones and jewelry sector, both for the investors in the manufacturing equipment, as well as investors in the finished products. In addition, it will give our local jewelers the opportunity to showcase their potential to the global community. Nigeria is endowed with varieties of precious and semi-precious stones having the potential to generate huge foreign exchange earnings for the country. Regrettably, these minerals are often touted in the international market as being sourced from other counties. Majority of gemstones mined in Nigeria are exported without value addition. The value variance between uncut and cut gemstones is very high, while the value increases even more significantly when these minerals are set in jewelry. Among the most popular gemstones in Nigeria are Sapphire, Aquamarine, Beryl, Emerald, Tourmaline, Phenakite Ruby, Garnet, Topaz, Amethyst, Moonstone, Onyx, Opal, Citrine and Zicron which are located across the six (6) geo-political zones of the country. Women In Mining In Nigeria (WIMIN) will host its maiden Open House Exhibition in Lagos on the 26th, 27th and 28th of September 2023. Nigeria's Gold and Gemstones will be showcased to the world. WIMIN seeks a more inclusive and resilient future in the solid minerals sector to develop a more sustainable and diversified economy for Nigeria.
