INDUSTRY NEWS: Ministerial Statement in response to the Auditor General of Canada’s Report on Digital Validation of Identity Minister of Citizens’ Services, Terry Beech, emphasized the growing need for faster, simpler, and safer online services as Canadians increasingly rely on digital interactions. In response, the federal government is developing tools like GC Sign In to streamline identity verification across all federal services and GC Issue and Verify to provide secure digital versions of physical credentials. These efforts aim to make government services more accessible and seamless while protecting privacy. Minister Beech highlighted, “We will ensure we place Canadians at the core of how we design and deliver their services, where and when Canadians need them.” Traditional physical options will remain available, ensuring inclusivity as Canada moves toward a more digitally connected future. #digitalgovernance #digitalservices #identityverification https://lnkd.in/gbNrB4dc
