IYCMI on INDUSTRY INSIGHTS: How Privacy by Design Will Reshape the Future of Digital Identity Privacy by Design (PbD) is a proactive approach that integrates privacy into technology and operations from the start, ensuring that data protection isn’t an afterthought. Rooted in seven principles like embedding privacy by default, PbD is crucial in decentralized identity systems, such as self-sovereign identity models, where users control their own data. PbD ensures compliance with privacy regulations, enhances user trust, and empowers individuals to share only what’s necessary—whether verifying credentials in education, securing medical data in healthcare, or enabling safe financial transactions with digital wallets. A big shoutout to Rohan Pinto, CTO of DIACC member 1Kosmos, for sharing these valuable insights on the importance of Privacy by Design in building secure, user-centric digital ecosystems.
