International Women’s Month, a day that was transformed into a week and now a month, we celebrate all year, every year. This month, I like to see the efforts companies are making to support and celebrate women. However, this is typically the time when companies really scrutinize their headcounts and realize that more needs to be done. At YMU, we are highly unusual for having a female CEO, Chair, CFO, multiple female MDs, and Directors, as well as multiple iconic female clients. We put words into action. We are at the forefront. Internally, we have a virtual live panel featuring myself, Mary Portas, Patricia Bright, and Shenae Grimes Beech discussing: - Are women actually making progress? - What does progress look like for women in business? - The thorny question of appearance - How can men help? - How are we doing at YMU? This year’s IWD theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion.’ But we’re far from an equal and inclusive world for women. 2154…that’s the year men and women across the globe will be treated as equals if the rate of progress stays the same. That’s 131 years away, according to the latest analysis in the Global Gender Gap Report. Over the last year, what is the most important single thing you’ve seen that represents progress for women?

And, with the current rate of change, global gender parity for chairs and CEOs is still 50 and 90 years away, respectively.
