🌐 On this United Nations International Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day, we recognise the critical role that these businesses play in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s theme, "Leveraging Power and Resilience of MSMEs to Accelerate Sustainable Development and Eradicate Poverty in Times of Multiple Crises," emphasises the necessity of fostering collaboration among policymakers, large corporations, financial institutions, and the global community. To commemorate the occasion, the editors at Global Focus magazine have curated a selection of insightful features that underscore the importance of collaboration and responsible leadership in achieving sustainable development, including: 🍃 Rumina Dhalla and 𝗝𝗖 (Jean-christophe) CARTERON Carteron argue that the failure to integrate SDG content in business schools is due to a competitive mindset rather than the collaborative approach essential for responsible leadership. 🍃 David Grayson explains the dramatic growth of the quantity and quality of business collaboration linked to sustainable development. 🍃 Raymond Saner and Yiu Lichia assert that despite challenges, initiatives like the SDGs, responsible business conduct, and business diplomacy can foster shared prosperity. 🍃 Philippe De Woot says that we need to transform our creativity into real progress for humankind and shows how social innovation can open the door for new methods and practices. By supporting MSMEs, we can enhance their resilience and unlock their potential to drive transformative change, helping to achieve the SDGs and create a more inclusive and sustainable future. Had the privilege to address the APAIE Conference in Perth on 'Collaborating for Sustainable Impact'. I spoke on the topic "Higher Education to Transform, Transfer, and Together for a Better World." In my talk, I emphasized the critical need for increased access to transformative technology to ensure effective and dynamic partnerships in the Asia Pacific and the world. The Higher Education sector is witnessing a turning point, and new pathways for sustainable economic, environmental, and social change are emerging. Reimagining a better world entails learning new opportunities based on new knowledge of our civilizational ascendency, technology-driven such as artificial intelligence, values that impart life skills, and journeys. To stay ahead of the curve, Higher Education Institutions in the Asia Pacific must engage in an exchange of ideas, knowledge, and best practices sharing and collaboration that the Universities of Asia Pacific (AUAP) strives for. My session's learning objectives aimed at resilient multisectoral collaboration to highlight the importance of partnerships that involve governments, non-profits, businesses, academia, and communities. As Presidents, Vice Chancellors and Chief Executives, we must work together to build partnerships that drive sustainable change for our communities, our economies, and our environment. #APAIEConference #HigherEducation #SustainableImpact #Collaboration #Partnerships #AsiaPacific

Three months ago, I obtained a certificate in Sustainable Tech from LEAP Africa . This course has equipped me with the knowledge of SDGs. During this coursework, we closely examined 🌱 The concept of Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 🌱 We also looked at the historical perspective on the sustainable development goals, tracing their evolution from MDGs to SDGs 🌱 We briefly examined the 17 goals and their relevance to us. 🌱 Goals 1, 3 & 4 were used as a case study with emphasis on their meaning, targets, and key indicators. 🌱 In conclusion, we examined our responsibilities as social entrepreneurs and advocates in addressing the challenges posed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). #YLDP #SDGs #sustainabilityforall

📣 The Global Engagement & Empowerment Forum on Sustainable Development is scheduled at Yonsei University from March 14th to 15th, 2024. Starting from 2018, the event has been jointly organised by the Institute for Global Engagement & Empowerment (IGEE), Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future, and Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens. I am enthusiastic about attending the event and witnessing the latest conversation on the development sector 😎 ◾ Topic: Reboot the SDGs, Reset Our future 1. Review and Reflect: GEEF 2024 aims to undertake a thorough review and critical analysis of the past approaches to the SDGs. Participants will reflect on missed opportunities and areas where transformation lacked substantive change. By recognizing and learning from past missteps, GEEF seeks to chart a more effective course for the future. 2. Action for Change: The desired change is not a one-fix-all solution. Instead, GEEF recognizes the importance of small yet incremental actions, especially those that can be internalized and habitualized in individuals' everyday lives. The forum highlights the need for individual behavior changes and actions that collectively contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. 3. Delivering a Strong and Persuasive Message: GEEF 2024 aims to deliver a compelling and agreed-upon message for our common future. The forum will unite global stakeholders in a collective effort to recommit to sustainable development and identify practical, actionable steps for making a positive impact. #GEEF #GlobalEngagementEmpowermentForum #SustainableDevelopment #SDGs #Yonsei #InstituteforGlobalEngagementEmpowerment #IGEE #BanKimoonFoundationforaBetterFuture #BanKimoonCentreforGlobalCitizens

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals present an excellent framework to foster international collaboration in higher education and research - and Times Higher Education's unique data provides the perfect matchmaking tool. The THE Impact Rankings assess universities' contribution to each one of the 17 UN SDGs, amassing many thousands of data points across 2,000+ universities in over 120 countries - on their teaching, research, outreach and the stewardship of resources. The data provides a unique and unprecedented opportunity to highlight previously hidden best practice across all of the SDGs and to open doors to collaboration and mobility. To be ranked in the overall impact rankings, universities must submit to #SDG17 - partnerships for the goals - to show a clear commitment collaboration. The table blow provides a look at the participation and performance for each European country in #SDG16 - peace, justice and strong institutions. I'm presenting this data, and much more, at The University of Edinburgh event today on UK-Spain collaboration, co-organised by the British Council - Agencia Nacional SEPIE Erasmus Estudiar en España. #UKSpainHE It is great to have a ranking focused on collaboration as much as competition. 🤔 – In order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), education plays an important role, along with the union of citizens, businesses, and governments –. These were my reflections after finishing the first week of the Designing Future Economies Seminar organized by Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde. This year, the seminar is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of students from Cuba, Germany, Ecuador, Peru, and Vietnam. As students, we shared our thoughts about the SDGs and the future of the economy ➡️🌿 The thing is, we need to innovate and build a new model to be more sustainable with the environment. As Buckminster Fuller once said, ‘You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.’ We hope to gain more experience on these topics after the seminar and share it with our classmates and the rest of society 🤓 Universidad Central "Marta Abreu" de Las Villas, Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration, DAAD Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst

As a young advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals, I'm excited to see this year's International Youth Day theme, "From Click to Progress; Youth Digital Pathway for Sustainable Development" spotlight the power of digital innovation in driving positive change. It's a reminder that our generation has the tools and talent to solve the world's most pressing problems. For me, the SDGs represent a north star for our collective efforts to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable world. By embracing digital technologies, we can accelerate progress toward these goals and unlock new opportunities for education, employment, and entrepreneurship. So let's seize this moment to harness the potential of digital innovation and create a brighter future for all. Whether through creativity, or community-building, we have the power to turn clicks into meaningful progress and make our mark on the world. Amb. KOLAWOLE Abdulqudus (PMP, AICPM, CFMP, CCMP) Ambassador for Positive Change, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Fellow, Africa SDGs Mentorship Program. Fellow, Awareness360 Global Fellowship.
