National dialogues are typically convened at moments of major political crisis. How can technology serve as a tool for good? Join Inclusive Peace for Challenge #5 of the #PeaceTech #Hackathon: Refining the open-source technology “pol.is” to render national dialogues more inclusive. The existing open-source deliberation technology for national dialogue called “pol.is” offers a promising entry point towards addressing challenges. However, its functionality is still too limited for peacebuilding practitioners to heavily draw on it in their daily efforts to render national dialogues more inclusive. Inclusive Peace is eager to directly collaborate with Hackathon participants in exploring opportunities to further develop pol.is and extend its functionality regarding brainstorming and consensus building on sensitive political, social, and economic issues in national dialogue contexts. What creative technological and analog solutions can we use to reach the most vulnerable in our societies, reducing isolation? The Bureau Cantonal Integration (BCI) will host challenge #8 for the #PeaceTech #Hackathon: How can we reach isolated women and give them a place in our hyper-connected society? The precarious situation of a portion of the population represents a real challenge in terms of public policy to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals are not discriminated against or marginalized, or at least as little as possible. Among this at-risk population, isolated women represent a significant challenge, especially since the factors contributing to precariousness are often intersectional. BCI has made reaching isolated migrant women a strong and prioritized focus of its integration program, making essential information accessible and understandable to them. This challenge will explore ideas to reach women off the grid is to use intermediaries to deliver information to them. Are you up to the challenge? 3 AM, Day 2 , City Hackathon Garoua, rallying the brightest young minds in the Northern Regions of Cameroon to create digital solutions to accelerate accessibility of Education in these regions. I don't know about you, but, me, I see hope, grit, resilience, faith, and a bright future. I see what's possible if we nurture our talents, if we show them what they are capable of, what their minds can accomplish with the right enabling environment.
