Is the Northern Netherlands becoming the new hotspot for medical innovation? The opportunities are abundant, and the iMPACT Implants project perfectly demonstrates what is possible when specialists join forces. The goal of this project? To develop personalized implants, tailored to the unique anatomy of each patient. By combining advanced 3D technology with patient-specific data, such as bite force and walking patterns, we make this possible. This is already being applied on a small scale. The next step is to further optimize it and roll it out on a larger scale. Together with partners like the UMCG, the ENTEG Institute of the University of Groningen, BAAT Medical, Bether Encapsulates, and PolyVation, we are working towards our ambition of making personalized implants the new standard. This project is made possible by a €3.7 million grant from the Just Transition Fund (JTF) to launch the iMPACT Implants program. The total project value amounts to €7.3 million. Want to know more about this project? Visit https://lnkd.in/ebvGH4Dr This project is co-financed by the European Union. #InnovatingTogether #healthcare #innovation #collaboration

Just returned from an inspiring and energizing three days at RSNA 2024 in Chicago—an event that reminds me of the incredible pace at which the radiology field is evolving. It was truly a privilege to engage with so many thought leaders, connect with vendor partners, and participate in insightful roundtable discussions. From meaningful conversations to meals shared with old friends and new peers, I’m leaving the conference both invigorated and, admittedly, a bit exhausted. But most of all, I’m carrying back a wealth of ideas and new perspectives that I’m excited to explore with my team. One of the most remarkable shifts this year was the explosive growth of AI technologies. What was a small segment just two years ago has now become a dominant force at the conference, with entire exhibitor rows dedicated to AI-powered tools and applications. It’s clear that AI is poised to revolutionize radiology—and healthcare more broadly. But with such rapid growth comes the challenge of filtering the noise. How do we separate the truly disruptive innovations from the hype? As we adopt these technologies, we must be strategic and focused on their real-world impact for both patients and providers. A heartfelt thank you to everyone I had the opportunity to engage with during the event. Whether through discussions, networking, or shared experiences, I deeply appreciate your time and insights. I also want to apologize to those I wasn’t able to connect with—I truly wish I could have had more time to engage with everyone. For those who attended RSNA, what were your key takeaways? Let’s continue the conversation—I’d love to hear your thoughts and keep the dialogue going! #RSNA2024 #AIinHealthcare #Radiology #MedicalImaging #HealthcareInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfMedicine #Networking #Leadership #Collaboration
