BREAKING NEWS! Tinubu Okays Restructuring of Media and Communications Team. President Bola Tinubu has re-designated the positions of two recently appointed officials in the State House media and communications team to enhance efficiency within the government’s communication machinery. According to Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga the restructuring is as follows: 1. Mr. Sunday Dare – hitherto Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications. 2. Mr. Daniel Bwala – announced last week as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, is now Special Adviser Policy Communication. These appointments, along with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy , underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency. Instead, all the three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government. This approach aims to ensure effective and consistent communication of government policies, decisions, and engagements. - Bayo Onanuga

Zhuzhing up your communications with a little lighthearted #humor can make your message more likable, credible, and trustworthy and help build camaraderie and consensus with your audiences. It can also help your narrative stand out and make it more memorable. Ragan Communications and PR Daily have demonstrated that humor can help CEOs and other leaders better navigate the challenges of today’s evolving corporate culture, and a growing number of #marketing, #communications, #advertising, #HR, and even #design professionals — including Sasha Jovanovic, Paige Cohen, Decca Design, and Really Good Emails — are advising folks to inject a little humor into everyday communications like OOO messages too. And while cheeky OOO messages aren’t a novel idea, the continued cultural appetite for authenticity — in social media, #CorporateCommunications, marketing, advertising, and more — is breathing new life into the trend, which last seems to have gained traction around 2018 and ebbed again around 2021. Given that context, would you be willing to deviate from the same-old, same-old? Sound off below, or — better yet — share a whimsical OOO message that you’d consider using. ⬇️ Sources: https://rebrand.ly/45k6vrd https://rebrand.ly/3bd8uge https://rebrand.ly/i1wsbs0 https://rebrand.ly/5r4gyph https://rebrand.ly/31rvz5f

I will never, ever guarantee press coverage for a client. I will, however, guarantee that I will put you in the best position to earn positive media coverage by: 👉 Crafting compelling, substantive, and timely pitches; 👉 Developing, and conducting extensive outreach to, the right set of media outlets and journalists; 👉 Staying opportunistic and aggressive in pursuing opportunities to raise your visibility and tell your story. If someone "guarantees" you media placements they're full of it (or work in advertising). Genuine Public Relations isn't about empty promises; it's about strategic storytelling, relationship-building, and putting in the hard work. Societal, media, and cultural changes have made skilled public relations and communications professionals more important to organizations than ever before. Those same dynamics are also making what they do more difficult. PR and communications pros who use research to gain a deeper understanding of the stakeholders, industry, and landscape that impact their efforts are more likely to be successful. But matching the right research approach to project type and phase isn't always obvious.
