Bring Your Best Self to Every Event As we approach the weekend, filled with potential black tie events, it’s important to step into these elegant gatherings with confidence. Whether you’re attending a gala, a formal dinner, or a sophisticated reception this weekend, understanding the rules of black tie attire is crucial to making the right impression. Black tie is more than just a dress code—it's a guideline that helps us present our best selves. Here’s why it’s essential to be well-acquainted with these rules: 1) Professional Image: Adhering to black tie etiquette reflects your respect for the occasion and the hosts, enhancing your professional image. 2) Confidence: Knowing you are appropriately dressed as per the event’s standards can significantly boost your confidence, allowing you to network and engage more effectively. 3) Cultural Sensitivity: Each event may have its nuances based on cultural or organizational norms. Being mindful and knowledgeable about such details can prevent faux pas and show your attentiveness. Remember, the right preparation goes a long way in making memorable connections—have an enjoyable weekend! :-)
At a recent black tie event, my client was shocked to see the majority of guests did not follow the dress code but THOUGHT there were. (Hint: the big mistake is in the below article!) Therefore, as it is black tie season, I thought it would be helpful to include a quick "Black Tie Cheat Sheet" dressing guide, so no matter if you are at a charity gala, business fundraiser or wedding, you're all set:

Do you notice how the smallest spaces can sometimes have the most significant impact? Last year, I worked with a client who had a small hall closet. While that closet seemed insignificant, decluttering and organizing it improved its functionality. We were shocked at how much stuff we pulled out of it! Today, take 10 minutes to declutter your hall closet. Set your time for 10 minutes and remove all items from the closet. If you have a big hall closet or the closet is crammed full, focus on one area, like the hanging rod, the floor, or the shelf/shelves. Sort through the coats, shoes, accessories, and whatever else is hiding. Decide what stays and what goes. As always, keep only what you use regularly or love. Put the items you keep away neatly, throw away broken items, and put things for donation into a bag. The nice thing about having an organized hallway closet is that it becomes guest-friendly by freeing up space for their belongings, making it easier to find and store seasonal items (like scarves and umbrellas). That wasn't so hard. I hope you have a wonderful (and productive) week! Need help? Let's chat! Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, one of the most important fundraising days of the year for #nonprofits. But have you ever stopped to wonder why this day comes after a weekend of hyper-consumerism? Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday—all centered on spending—while Giving Tuesday sits quietly at the end, waiting for leftovers. This isn’t a coincidence; it’s a reflection of where altruism stands in the hierarchy of capitalism. Giving is an afterthought rather than a priority. As the year winds down and we prepare for a new administration that has already signaled a disregard for the charitable sector, I challenge you to pause and reflect. Nonprofits don’t just "help out"—they fill critical gaps left by our systems. From the arts to social services, they shape our communities and provide services we rely on, often without realizing it. Take a moment to consider the amenities you enjoy daily—cultural institutions, support networks, green spaces—and do a quick search. You’ll likely find a nonprofit at the heart of their existence. One nonprofit I’m proud to champion is Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) As a Board Co-Chair, I’ve seen how MODA harnesses the power of design to address real-world challenges, amplify diverse voices, and make Atlanta a beacon of creativity and resilience. This #GivingTuesday, I’m supporting their Power to the People campaign, ensuring MODA can continue designing a better future for all of us. Will you join me? Together, we can make giving a priority, not an afterthought. Support MODA here: https://lnkd.in/eyFiGDMM ✨ Let’s shift the narrative and give back to the organizations shaping our world.✨
Power to the People! Support MODA!

Organizing your bedroom drawers is just as important as organizing your closet. Here are a couple of tips you can use to keep your belongings in their proper place. 👕 File fold, into small rectangles, so that you can see everything at a glance. This also allows you to remove an item without making a mess in the drawer. 🧦 Roll and store items like socks, underwear, and t-shirts. Store them in rows or layers in your drawer. This maximizes space, reduces wrinkles, and keeps your clothes organized and visible. 🧱 Use drawer dividers to separate your items. This prevents a jumbled mess, keeps categories separate, and makes it easy to find what you need. If you need assistance getting organized, unpacking, or preparing for a move, book your FREE consultation today. #clothing #drawers #declutter #purge #donate #organizingpro #homeorganizer #houstonhomeorganizer #professionalorganizerhouston #hireaprofessionalorganizer #blackprofessionalorganizers #womenowned #NABPO #NAPO #Texas #harriscounty #montgomerycounty #galvestoncounty #iOrganize

"DWELL" It’s all in the Details... with Gretchen M. Igou IGO Organize! A cluttered and disorganized clothes closet can be a daily source of frustration. Searching for that perfect outfit in a sea of clothing can be time-consuming and stressful. Fortunately, with a little effort and some smart organization strategies, you can transform your messy closet into a well-organized oasis. We'll share today four tips to help you achieve a neatly organized clothes closet. DeClutter Your Wardrobe-Step 1 The first step in creating an organized clothes closet is to declutter your wardrobe. Over time, we tend to accumulate clothing items that we no longer wear or need. Take some time to go through your clothes and decide what to keep, what to donate, and what to discard. Here's a simple process to follow: a. Start by taking everything out of your closet, sorting into categories (e.g., shirts, pants, dresses) and laying it out where you can see it all. b. As you go through each sorted category make decisions on: keep, donate, and discard. Be ruthless in your decisions. If you haven't worn something in the last year, it's time to let it go.
