#Startup Boom in #Saxony! 💥 Saxony is rapidly emerging as a #hightech hub in 🇪🇺. With consistent support and strategic initiatives, the region is becoming an attractive destination for companies and #tech developments. While most federal states recorded double-digit drops in the number of new startups, Saxony stood out with a significant increase. Last year, ⬆️35% more startups were founded there than in 2022. Thanks Techne for a lovely evening and organising an incredible panel. I really enjoyed moderating the panel on selecting high growth startups with Salman Butt KARIMA👼🏽 El Hakim 🎈🧸🐪 and Vijay Tirathrai Very insightful discussion. My favourite parts were (paraphrased!) - Karima: when investing in companies, you don’t have to pick unicorns - they can be camels too. A $200 million business is a great success in our region. - Salman: he picks startups based on his connection with the tech team which is similar to his own company Salla.com which he founded with another technical founder. - Vijay: rates his success as an investor by whether the startups receive follow on funding. He also believes AI will revolutionize the selection process for VC’s in the next 2-3 years
