Please help us protect tigers and other endangered wildlife. The Trans-Himalayan trafficking route: Tigers continue to be killed across their range due to high demand for tiger parts and products in China, Vietnam and other parts of South-East Asia. Organised criminal gangs take advantage of porous borders to smuggle tiger skins, bones, teeth and claws, as well as other endangered wildlife products, across the ancient trade routes from India and Nepal to Tibet and China. The worldwide population of tigers has declined by a massive 95% since the 1900s. Only around 5,574 tigers remain in the wild. We must protect tigers from this brutal trade. Please help us save endangered species! Any gift you can give today will help us to: Identify and dismantle the criminal networks who kill tigers and other endangered wildlife for profit. Campaign to protect tigers in their natural habitat, which in turn protects other species and ecosystems. Lobby governments for legislation that protects big cats and ends all trade in tiger products. If you can, please donate today to help protect tigers and other endangered wildlife. Your gift will make a valuable difference to our work. Australian native animals are critical to our ecosystems. They rely on us to protect them and respect the importance of their life on earth. We share these principles with @goldbullionaustralia, so we’ve teamed up to share some patient stories from Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and spread the word about the value of wildlife and how we must invest in protecting it. It’s hard to imagine a more iconic animal than the kangaroo 🦘When it comes to protecting wildlife like kangaroos, many feel they don’t have the power to make a difference. Everyone can help to make a difference for our wildlife, even if it’s just sharing the message. 🔵 Donate to wildlife hospitals like ours which provide life-saving care. 🔵 Keep your dogs on leash at all times in wildlife areas. Roos and Macrapods are particularly susceptible to stress myopathy which can occur when frightened or chased by dogs. 🔵 Slow down on our roads at dawn and dusk. 🔵 Check the pouch. #ByronBayWildlifeHospital #WildlifeVeterinaryCare #AustralianCharity #NativeWildlifeHeroes #ProtectAussieWildlife #HealWithHeart #ByronBayWildlifeRescue #WildlifeWellness #AustralianWildlifeHeroes #NurturingNativeSpecies

Koalas are one of the world's most beloved animal species and it is hard to think about our dark past in koala fur trade. It is estimated that 10 million koalas existed in Australia when the koala fur trade began. Fur trade records show at least 8 million koalas were killed for fur between 1888 and 1927. In 1927 in Queensland alone, it is estimated that 800,000 were killed and in 1920 koalas became extinct in South Australia. Today, we don't know the exact numbers left in the wild but it is estimated to be around 300,000 mature koalas. We are glad that koalas are now safe from hunters but unless we stop habitat destruction, climate change, chlamydial disease and domestic animal attacks - koalas continue to be very much at risk of extinction. #threatenedspecies #koala https://ow.ly/CEkP50QLuaj

September is Save a Tiger Month! In Thailand, we are collaborating with the University of Minnesota and the Seub Foundation with help from the US Fish and Wildlife Service to support community conservation in 14 communities in Thung Yai Naresuan East and West Wildlife Sanctuaries to conserve tiger (Panthera tigris) and their prey species banteng (Bos javanicus), gaur (Bos gaurus), and sambar (Rusa unicolor). The wildlife sanctuaries are located in the Western Forest Complex (WEFCOM), a 19,000 km2 tiger landscape, composed of 17 contiguous protected areas, which supports the largest tiger population in Southeast Asia. Globally, it is one of 4-5 tiger populations that currently have a high probability of remaining viable for the next 100 years. However, breeding tigers currently occupy only 37% of this landscape. The project goal is to contribute to government efforts to refill this half-empty landscape so it can serve as a source for both re-establishing extirpated populations and rescuing those that are threatened. If you love tigers, please consider making a donation to help fund these programs and ensure their success. #WorldRhinoDay: A Spotlight on the Last Javan & Sumatran Rhinos 🦏 Yesterday, we recognised the critical status of some of the most endangered species on Earth – the Javan and Sumatran rhinos. With fewer than 60 Javan rhinos and less than 50 Sumatran rhinos remaining in the wild, their populations are on the brink of extinction. At the Wildlife Forensic Fund, our mission is to equip rangers and conservationists with the forensic tools they need to combat poaching, wildlife trafficking, and habitat loss – the biggest threats to these species. How You Can Help: - Donate to support our partners Scent Imprint Conservation Dogs, who play a vital role in detecting wildlife crime and protecting rhinos in their natural habitats. - Spread awareness of these critically endangered species. Together, we can ensure that the last remaining Javan and Sumatran rhinos survive and thrive. This #GivingTuesday, I’m reflecting on the extraordinary moment we’re living in—a time of immense crisis but also great opportunity. We’ve pushed our planet’s systems to the brink, yet within this crisis lies a chance for renewal, for action, and for change. At Fauna & Flora we are seizing this opportunity to address the interconnected challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, and human well-being. By protecting nature—the foundation of all life—we are restoring the balance that sustains ecosystems, economies, and communities around the globe. Our work is rooted in a simple but powerful truth: when nature thrives, so do we. Healthy ecosystems don’t just protect wildlife… they provide resilience for people and communities facing increasing challenges like floods, droughts, and storms. I’m grateful for everyone who has joined us in this fight and those who will stand with us in the future. Today’s a perfect time to act and join us in creating a better future for nature, people, and the planet. Together, we can transform crisis into opportunity and build a more sustainable, equitable world. #GivingTuesday #SavingNatureTogether
Protect Cambodia’s Unique Wildlife – Double Your Impact Today Cambodia’s Koh Kong region is unlike anywhere else. Rich with ultra-rare species, some of which are found nowhere else. Koh Kong stretches from mountaintop cloud forests to coral reefs, providing a home for otters, clouded leopards, pangolins, dolphins and many other iconic species. 🐬⛰️ But this diverse habitat is under threat. As Cambodia’s monsoon season comes to an end, the danger returns—poachers and illegal fishers move back into Koh Kong, putting its extraordinary wildlife at risk. Fauna & Flora is working tirelessly with local partners and trusted experts to protect Koh Kong and its wildlife. However, we need your help. Now is the time to act. This Giving Tuesday, your donation will be matched thanks to a group of generous donors. This means your gift will go twice as far to safeguard Koh Kong’s wildlife and preserve this irreplaceable ecosystem. Already deprived of food by the devastation trawler fishing wreaks on ocean ecosystems, new research by British Antarctic Survey indicates at least 44,000 seabirds, including some of the world's most endangered species, are caught as trawler bycatch every year. The study found simple measures such as deploying a "bird scare line" or not throwing fish guts overboard, decreased bird deaths, but were rarely used. Perhaps this lack of concern for animal welfare is unsurprising in an industry where concern for human welfare is similarly lacking - with a recent article by The Pew Charitable Trusts raising that 100,000 people a year are killed while fishing. #marineconservation Blue Marine Foundation BirdLife Europe and Central Asia Uzair Aftab Oceana UK Daniel Steadman OCEANS ALIVE CONSERVATION TRUST OUR OCEANS • OUR FUTURE Hugo Tagholm Luke McMillan Dr. Francesca Ginley (Bevan) Sarenta King

Aww ☺️the Mukarrthippi Graswren (moo-kwaa-tippy)is a simply amazing little bird barely surviving against the odds, and as one of Australia’s most threatened birds, is really on the brink!🥹 A dedicated team of experts are trying to turn this around before we lose the remaining population forever. Any tax deductible donation is appreciated as it supports BirdLife to sustain the Mallee birds program, and the staff that hold expert knowledge and coordinate recovery of this and many other threatened mallee birds in this harsh, remote but beautiful landscape. Any support will also sustain ongoing protection of BirdLife Australia ‘s very own 51,4000 hectare publicly accessible conservation site-Gluepot reserve, in the heart of the mallee. Last year, 6 Mukarrthippi grasswren were found in NPWS managed lands, of the total 20 predicted remaining. Dedicated partners and BirdLife are continuing monitoring in the hope to find more, are developing new monitoring tools and initiatives to protect against feral predators, and severe habitat loss leading up to this years fire season. https://lnkd.in/gS4tRm_6?

In the Pantanal wetlands of Brazil, years of drought, high temperatures, and strong winds have caused intense fires that are shattering historical records and killing rare wildlife. Since January, over 3 million acres have burned. Rainforest Trust’s local partner, Onçafari, right now has staff and volunteers on the front lines fighting the fires, protecting their wildlife reserves, and rescuing animals that require veterinary care. Rainforest Trust is working with Onçafari to establish an important new reserve in another area of the Pantanal – as yet not directly impacted by fires – the new 326,179-acre Taquari Wetlands State Park. This new reserve will support a long-term strategy to fortify a critical wildlife corridor in the Pantanal, a goal that is becoming more critical every day, to give wildlife increased access to safe habitat. Donate now to help establish this new preserve, and provide significant opportunities for local experts to prepare for the growing threat of wildfires in the Pantanal: https://lnkd.in/gJ3b68XP 📽️: Footage of fires in the Pantanal, courtesy of Onçafari. #deforestation #climateemergency #climatecrisis
