Efforts by midstream giant Energy Transfer to block a natural gas pipeline out of the Haynesville shale could threaten the region's production growth and the coming US LNG export boom, the pipeline company and others argue in court filings. "The public policy implications of this decision will have far-reaching consequences for Louisiana's energy sector and, indeed, perhaps for the nation's energy independence," Louisiana attorney general Jeff Landry said in a court filing. Energy Transfer is trying to "create and control a bottleneck," which, if successful, "other existing pipeline owners could repeat … throughout Louisiana and across the country, which could stymie any new construction of pipelines," midstream company Momentum said in its filing. If Momentum and its allies are correct, the ruling could hamper the gas production growth needed in the Haynesville in the coming years to keep up with a massive build-out of new LNG export capacity along the US Gulf coast. Under President-elect Trump’s “drill, baby, drill” promise to boost domestic oil production, can we expect lower gas prices? Experts and industry leaders are skeptical. U.S. energy companies remain focused on profitability and efficient production rather than ramping up drilling. Consolidation in the sector, coupled with limited refinery capacities, means enhanced output won't directly translate into lower prices at the pump. With global demand and resource optimization as driving forces, this approach demonstrates a strategic shift in the energy industry. 🔗 Read more about the challenges and outlook here: https://lnkd.in/eFVuGa_F #EnergyPolicy #OilAndGas #MarketTrends #Innovation

However, the #offshoredrilling is now anticipated to start in Q2 2025 instead of Q1, with slippage in the schedule principally perceived to be the result of overrunning drilling activities of other operators using Sunda Energy Plc’s preferred #rig. FlexEnergy Solutions stands ready to deliver clean, reliable, and dispatchable power to operators who need it today. Although we applaud the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approving the expansion of the ERCOT grid to meet burgeoning demand from the oil and gas industry, it will take years to make the needed transmission upgrades, which are expected to cost between $12.95 billion and $15.32 billion. Fortunately, there is no need to wait that long. The proven Flex Turbine is a cleaner, more reliable, and lower-cost energy alternative than most utility grids, including ERCOT. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you transition into oilfield electrification with the cleanest and most reliable power solutions on the market today: https://lnkd.in/eyHM6vi6 #oilfield #oilgas #oilandgas #cleanenergy #microturbines

Despite the brief lifeline provided by supply curtailments announced by #gas producers such as industry bellweather Chesapeake Energy, Henry Hub gas prices are struggling at $1.60/mmbtu to close the week or near its recent lows. Why? More non-winter weather continuing into March. And its the same story globally, which is recording its warmest February. US gas markets are oversupplied with storage containment worries already starting to arise. Low prices are the cure to low prices. Producers have already proceeded with: Step 1 = Drop rigs and frac crews Step 2 = Defer well completions and TILs Do producers already need to go to Step 3 = Economic wellhead shut-ins?
