Hey, everybody. I'm Matt Hill here in San Diego at the LDC Gas Forum conference. That's right. I got it right the first time. I can't believe it. Introduce yourself. I'm Whitney Fillmore from Tulsa, OK. I'm Kane Coulter. I live in Dallas, TX now see, look at us all from the mid con area clear out. What do you think about California so far? I'd love to visit San Diego. Wow, it's awesome, 20�� drop for the summer. She did tell me the reason she has it out here. This destination kind of conference is if we haven't in Dallas or we have it in Houston. She knows us well as an industry. We're all come for a little bit and then we'll take off and get all the local, you know, restaurants or home. Yeah, that makes sense. Alright, so where'd you grow up? I grew up in Tulsa and then moved to Houston and now travel back and forth from Tulsa to Houston and all over the country for work. How did you get into oil and gas? I received my degree in industrial engineering in college and Metcalf Spire actually at the career fair my senior year and jumped straight in to the energy industry fresh out of college and haven't left. It's been almost six years now. No regrets, No regrets, I love it. What what? We talk about all the time as industry leaders is thank you for coming on board and young women especially. And you know, I'll, I'll tell everybody this. We need that diversity of thought and education so that all decisions have as many ideas and, you know, eyes on different problems. And we're all, you know, raised up by you coming into this. But now you have to go out and do energy education to bring the next generation in. Absolutely. And this is just one of those things that we love to attend to, to get the word out there and to hopefully learn more. Which I'm learning more every single day. So alright, Kane, same question. Where did you grow up and then how did you get knowing gas? I grew up in Freeport, TX, actually Jones Creek, just South of Houston. And then out of college I got in the restaurant industry. And then a buddy that I played ball with in college was in the oil and gas industry and ended up recruiting me in. And I started off on the power trading desk and worked on the power side for a long time and slowly worked my way into natural gas as well. So yeah. So 30,000 foot view, just what is what is Cap Spire? So Cap Spire, we're a consultant eat that mic on everybody hear this listen. Yeah. And cat, Cat Spire, we're a consulting company mainly with energy trading risk management software. We do a lot with right angle, Allegro and door and some of the other softwares coming up. And then we also have an advisory practice where we help energy trading companies that maybe want to do an assessment of their current landscape or if they are looking to. Some of them may be on spreadsheets and need to get a system or have had one for a while, just want to do a new system overview and we help them through that process. How much of our industry still in spreadsheets? More than you would think. I, I believe, and I know you do too, natural gas, I mean, it's been around a long time, of course, but it's still in its infancy. It really just spreading globally a brighter future for everyone. And I think here in the United States, we have a real opportunity to get affordable and abundant reliable energy out to the globe. How, how do you think we should do that? I think 1. I don't think a lot of people, especially my age. Are educated on natural gas, they hear oil and gas, they immediately assume that it's horrible for the environment. Then it is just this huge horrible monster that no one is focusing on making better, making cleaner, making just a better solution. But we really are out here trying to do that. And I think that if people were more educated, they would understand that and realize that we are moving away from the cold days and we are trying our best to get to where it is cleaner it is. Renewable and it is just a better step forward. It's it's very quickly transferred into electrons, which we can get out there. And with your help and consulting, yeah, yeah. People will be able to bring their product to market a lot faster and more efficiently. And really at the end of the day, it, this is all about return on, you know, your investment, you know, with companies like yours, investors will know that when they put their dollars into it, they're going to they're going to see those. Returns, and that's what I think probably drives the environmental side of it too, is like, you know, if I'm getting a return on my investment, then I have those research opportunities here, OK, well, can I also make it more efficient for the environment? Yep, that's exactly right. He knows all the things already. He just looks. So natural gas is here to stay, in my opinion. I'm for awhile bullish on it. Yeah. And it's needed especially to support the grid. And yeah, we need a little bit of everything. But natural gas, in my opinion, is going to be one of the bigger players to get us moving forward. Yeah, we. We all need to swap from burning oil to turning oil into products and using natural gas as our fuel. It does a lot. I'd love to go out to my backyard kitchen and. You have to turn on the gas grill with. I'm telling you. I bet you make some mean grub. I might have to follow up with that. We're gonna run out of Dallas sometimes. Yeah. God bless you all.
