On June 24th, 36 days ago, I quit drinking. Here’s what I’ve learned: As many of you may know, I love craft beer. It is one of my favourite things, and whenever I travel to a new city, I like to check out the craft beer scene. At conferences, I loved the social aspect, where alcohol is available at every turn. But would often come home feeling wrecked. And when at home, after a stressful day, I’d have a few beers to wind down. But the thing I loved was quickly becoming an obstacle to something I love even more. Which is my drive to build some of iGaming’s biggest and most innovative businesses. So I quit drinking. And I’ve never felt better than I do right now. My thinking is clearer, I’m making faster decisions, I have more energy, and feel far more positive. Overall, my productivity has taken a huge increase. At the time, I didn’t appreciate how much alcohol was slowing me down. And instead of taking a week to recover from a conference run, I hit the ground running after 1 day rest. I’m not writing this post to be preachy. Everyone is entitled to their choices, and I support you in that. But it just wasn’t working anymore for me, and I want to share my experience in case it is helpful to anyone reading. Has anyone else been on this journey? What has your experience been?

Paul’s Friday Beer Thoughts. So I’ve been at UKREIIF this week. Bumped into a lot of people I know, and a lot I don’t other than being connected on LinkedIn (or in some cases not connected!). Do you know what the vast majority said to me? Something along the lines of “What are you going to say this Friday Paul?” Not sure I should be proud of being known for drinking beer! 😂 But the point? Consistency wins. Want to be known on social media? Consistently post. Want to run a PB in a Marathon? Consistently train. Want to lose weight? Consistently eat well. Want to be better at anything? Consistently turn up. Consistency wins.

Buying the perfect gift for Dad can be hard. When you know that the perfect gift is beer, Father’s Day beer shopping can be downright brutal if you don’t drink beer yourself. 🍻🌎 Do you play it safe and give him the same old thing he always drinks? It shows you listen, which is good. But many people secretly hope for a surprise and a bit of adventure when they get a gift. So, you might do better if you find Dad a new beer. 👇 https://hubs.li/Q02z8qgT0 To help you get started, here’s how to shop for beer on Father’s Day, even if you don’t like it. If your dad doesn’t like it, we still have a few Father’s Day gifts suggestions that may just do the trick anyway.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗽? Imagine this: You’re walking down the corridor holding a cup of coffee when someone bumps into you and causes it to spill. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦? You might say, “Because someone bumped into me!“ But the right answer is: You spilled 𝔠𝔬𝔣𝔣𝔢𝔢 because 𝔠𝔬𝔣𝔣𝔢𝔢 was in your cup. Had there been 𝔱𝔢𝔞 in your cup, you would have spilled 𝔱𝔢𝔞. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘶𝘱 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥. You may not notice the anger, bitterness, impatience or irritation that you are feeling inside. But chances are, the next time someone bumps into you, it will show. Are you going to own that, or are you going to blame the world for it? 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘄𝗻; 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲. We are starting December – it’s review time! How have you managed what’s in your cup this year? PS/ that’s a cocktail of tequila and wine in my cup, not coffee. Try and bump me! I’ll be spilling some mix of fun and creativity 😊 #fillyourcup ----- Think I can help? The Tin “Cheers for the brotherhood.” “Cheers for success.” “Toast for your loved ones.” “For happily ever after.” “Cheers for more.” One of the most beautiful words to hear is "cheers,” and what else is better than beers? Haha! And that rhymed. While we know there are toasts made with other drinks, the beer cheers is always special. Sometimes going out with your pals for a beer can bring in the most luxurious conversations of all time, more than a coffee. When you have a couch and if there are lazy bums, there are crazy ideas that come in, and then when it kicks in, you have a bash of fun. Sometimes they are also used while having intellectual talks while the tin keeps rolling in. You see, the red and white tin is so attractive that it tempts me to clash like Stone Cold Steve Austin. Tag your beer mate and dedicate this toast. Because every tin that’s cracked open always has a lot of untold stories. Note: Drink responsibly. Alcohol has it's own cons! #Productdesign #thepixelcompany #branding #marketing #culturebasedmarketing #brandtalks #beer #cheers
