I got my new role off Instagram 📱 ... and I wasn't fully qualified for it (on paper). However, I could clearly see the kind of value I could add to this particular client, and having admired her brand for so long, I decided to take the leap and give it a shot. That one email that actually stated my inability to cater to all her business needs as outlined in the job description, led up a trail that eventually landed on a job offer. Amazingly, the client decided to split the roles into two, and I get to act on my strong points as my colleague works her magic on the other areas that align with her, all for the good of the business. My 3 key firecrackers from this experience... 🔹 Do not be the one to disqualify yourself. Dare to try even when you know you might not fully fit the criteria. 🔹 Self awareness is gold. Know your strong points and the areas that need improvement, and advocate for yourself accordingly. 🔹 Be good at being bad at things, at least in the beginning. The onboarding process requires me to embrace continuous learning, and sometimes I feel like I'm slow at it. Grateful for the psychological safety at my workplace. This truly affirmed the importance of self-belief. One of my affirmations is : 𝘐 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, living true to it and to that we say- Sip Sip Hurray!

Over the past few years at Cardinal Counsel , I've been deeply involved in our customer service experiences. Managing clients while handling most of the technical work can be quite daunting. I am not even going to downplay how hard this can be. However, one thing that has kept me going is my commitment to high standards. I make it a priority to keep my word and communicate promptly when circumstances change and make it impossible to deliver as promised. it’s hard. I know but we should all strive to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Why? Because only when you do so can you truly stand out and seize the opportunities that come your way. And I think it as simple as keeping to your word. Doing what you said you would do. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐝, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. If you hold yourself accountable for meeting deadlines and communicate effectively throughout the process, I promise you, everyone will be happier. This is your reminder and honestly my reminder to constantly hold ourrselves to a High Standard. Happy New week!

Weekly reflection: What am I thinking about? 💭 As I finish off this workweek, I ponder my thoughts on how I can better convey to my clients that I truly want the best for them. The picture below speaks a profound truth to the answer, and that is AUTHENTICITY. If I cannot be authentic and fully trustworthy when dealing with my clients, then what am I trying to achieve anyway? As I step into my new role as an Account Manager, it is an opportune time to pause for a moment, "lock myself in a room full of mirrors," and truly ask that all-important question: "What and who are you reflecting in your client relationships?" My goal with my clients is that they will see exactly what I see in that room full of mirrors—a TRUE REFLECTION. Have a great weekend! 💥

Being a management assistant at enterprise is truly amazing.

Early in my career, I used to think that working with a reputed brand should be the goal.   But, after making 3 switches in 5 years of my career, I have realized one thing.   That is, it is never about the brand you are working with.   In the initial few days after joining, you feel ecstatic in bragging about the brand you are working with.   But, in the long run, it is all about the work and the manager you are working with.   So, if you are changing your job, do your research on the quality of work you would be doing.   And find out about the work culture where you would be joining.

Starting a new position

It has been a year since I joined OKG—time flies are the words I use to describe the journey. Sometimes, we tend to focus on what's next and forget how far we've come. Reflecting back, many things have changed, the people around me—some new joiners, some have stayed, and others have left. We started as a small team and have grown into a larger one. Transformed from an individual contributor into a manager I went from being responsible for tasks to being responsible for the people who are responsible for the tasks. Sometimes, it would be faster if I did things myself, but I know my role is to guide others and create a safe environment for them to succeed. It is even more challenging in a fast-paced industry, but I enjoy the journey so far. There is more to come, but with a supportive team, it shouldn't be a problem. What once felt like a big deal no longer matters The things like low training completion and passing rates used to be a concern, but now they have become business as usual. While there are still areas for improvement, they are no longer major issues. Things change, people grow, and what troubles you today may not matter a year from now. You will figure out a way, and you will be fine. Remember your WHY Things might not always go as expected. There were times when I felt overwhelmed, but that’s when I remind myself why I chose this path—to help people become better versions of themselves through training and coaching. That is my north star and the reason I do what I do. You might not always be able to change your environment, but you can always change your attitude.
