Hi everyone, Sorry to disturb, I just would like to share something with you guys. Do you know, you can double up your money when you retired thru Kenanga Investment Unit Trust? A bit about Kenanga Investment Unit Trust, you have 2 ways to invest which is using cash or/and EPF. The interesting part is, if you invest thru EPF, only account 1 that will be use for the investment. Account 1 for sure cannot be use unless your age is within 55 years old. Due to that, while waiting for to be retire, why not invest in Kenanga a portion of the amount. Every year EPF provided dividen by 5%+-, which if you invest a portion with Kenanga, the average total return for these 5 years is within 12% - 15% a year. Our client that only invest within 6 month got around 8% return of the investment. InsyaAllah, during retirement age, the EPF amount can be double from what it should be. WHAT IF, you did not have EPF? no worries, you can invest thru cash, same as EPF the minimum amount of the investment only RM 1000. For cash investment, there is 2 ways that you can you; which is Lump-sum investment, for example you invest around RM10K in all at once or you invest RM 10K, then every month, you invest RM 100 as long as you like. Today, I will attempt to unravel the concepts of Flat Rate, Effective Rate, and the Base Rate (BR) in financing/lending. These terms might sound complex, but they're essential for anyone navigating loans, even if you’re completely new to banking. Flat Rate: When you hear about a loan with a flat rate, it means the interest is calculated on the entire principal amount throughout the loan term. Let's say you borrow RM10,000 at a flat rate of 5% per annum for 5 years. The interest is consistently based on RM10,000, potentially making numbers appear more straightforward but sometimes masking the true cost of the loan. Effective Rate: The effective rate, provides a more accurate cost of borrowing. It accounts for the reducing principal balance. As you pay down your loan, the interest payable decreases accordingly. This rate gives you a clearer picture and aids in comparing various loan products. Base Rate (BR): Let’s link these with the Base Rate, a crucial component in determining interest rates for many loans, particularly in Malaysia. The BR is essentially the minimum interest rate a bank charges, influenced by, among other factors, economic conditions and the bank’s cost of funding. Lenders often add a margin to the BR to finalize the loan rate. How They Interconnect: - With Flat Rate Loans: Base Rate isn’t directly applied since flat rates use their own straightforward calculations. - With Effective Rate Loans: Often linked with the BR + margin, providing a fluctuating rate reflecting the BR changes. This is where understanding BR becomes essential as it affects your loan costs directly. Why Do You Need to Understand These? For young borrowers, knowing these distinctions helps in identifying the real cost of loans you're considering. It empowers you to ask the right questions and make money-smart decisions. Not so Pro Tip: Always inquire about the effective rate in relation to the BR. This insight will guide you to more informed borrowing and savings. Hope this helps.

🌟 How to Get Your HRDCorp Trainer Accreditation 🌟 I've received several DMs asking about the HRDCorp Trainer Accreditation Certificate process. Here’s a bit about my journey and how you can get accredited after completing your Train the Trainer session. A bit of background: I was a Process Safety Trainer at Shell Malaysia Upstream before and never thought about getting accredited. Being a trainer on top of my daily deliverables was something I liked doing. It wasn't until a colleague turned friend, Nik Akmal Nik Othman highlighted the process and inspired me to pursue it. In my current role re-engineering the Learning and Development portfolio, getting accredited made perfect sense. 📝 The Application Process: To apply for the accreditation, you'll need to submit the following four items via the accreditation link: 1. Course Outline/Structure: Provide an overview of the course, including time breakdowns, objectives, and methodology. 2. Slide Deck: A presentation that corresponds with the course outline and structure. 3. 2-Hour Training Video: A recording of you conducting the class. Provide a link to this video on the accreditation site. 4. Attendance Sheet & Feedback: Document participant attendance and their feedback on the training. ⏳ Timeline: The application process took about 2 months from start to final approval by the HRDCorp Center. It could take longer if there are additional questions, reviews, or an influx of requests for the accreditation. Once you receive your accreditation, it is valid for 3 years. 🎉 The Benefits: With this accreditation, I'm now a recognized trainer, able to provide trainings based on my areas of expertise. HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT OF QUITTING? 😯 Let's address that today, shall we? ✍🏾 Today in Workplace Talk with Abby, I'll give my two cents on quitting. ▶ Let’s be real for a minute! Does quitting your current job cross your mind often? And why is that? Perhaps the pay is insufficient? Perhaps the workplace is toxic? Perhaps you realize your season there is over? ▶ By the time quitting is crossing your mind more than thrice a month at your current workplace, you need to understand where that desire comes from. Evaluate where your emotional and mental health is at when it comes to the level of work, professionalism, and remuneration. ▶ Do you have any fear? Fear to address co-workers? Fear to say no to work that is dangerously out of your scope? Fear to establish work hours boundaries? Fear of the office politics? Boldness here will be required! You will have to do the work to mentally prepare yourself to address these fears, one at a time. 1️⃣ Keep Your Thoughts to Yourself: For now. Protect this idea from anyone at your workplace until you make a definite decision on your way forward. DO NOT share too much information about you wanting to quit, so that it is not to be used against you in office politics. 2️⃣ Explore Your Options: Internal Transfer: If possible, consider transferring to a different department or role within the company where the environment might be better. Request for a promotion: In case pay is the only issue, apply for a promotion every two or so years and see if it is a viable option. 3️⃣ Plan Your Exit Startegy: Kama ni kubaya, (you have seen no improvements, you are constantly drained and not operating at full thriving potential) start planning your exit strategy as soon as possible! What does a practical exit strategy look like? ☑ Funnel as much money into an Emergency Fund worth six to twelve months of your expenses. As a cushion when you leave. ☑ Start securing other work opportunities. Apply for higher positions than what you are currently doing. Shoot that shot, HIGH! ☑ Keep two or three beneficial work relationships for reference purposes. ☑ NETWORK within your field as much as possible. Go to networking events within or even outside your current trajectory. Open yourself up to success! ☑ Monetize your hobbies or passions. Find ways to creatively make money with something you can wake up everyday to do effortlessly. ☑ Build a LinkedIn community and keep your professional documents up to date! Do you find this helpful? Probation Extension & Confirmation Approval Form Managing the probationary period can be a costly exercise if not managed well. If the employee is not confirmed and files a case for unfair dismissal, it can cost the company up to 12 months of backwages. Confirming an employee despite being unfit for the job may save the date but can be costlier in the long run and affect the company more significantly. Untrained and irresponsible hiring managers may take an easy way out of managing the probation and put the company at risk. Often, HR succumbs to the hiring manager's poor decision. A hazardous probation extension does not necessarily save the company from possible legal repercussions. It costs the company unnecessary money, resources, and productivity. I advocate extending probation only once for exceptional and deserving cases. This proposed form avoids the above scenario by involving the Management and giving them the final say. It covers 3 scenarios that are (1) Confirmation (upon completion of the initial probationary period), (2) Extension of probation, and (3) Confirmation (upon completion of the extended probationary period). The idea to create this form came during a recent PIP & Probation Management class when we debated the cost of unnecessary probation extensions or reining in on a manager who wants to confirm a probationer. Personal Financial Planning ; Home Joint Loan with Your Life Partner : (1) My article is based on afraid system only.  (2) Ideally, as a female Professional, you should buy your own home no matter how small it is within your budget, be it an apartment, a condo around Klang Valley or any small towns ( terrace, semi - D or bungalow).  (3) In case of any unprecedented incidents such as divorce or fatality, at least the wife has her own home with absolute ownership.  (4) In case you're a full housewife, but your husband having many homes under his name, you have to insist him to surrender at least one home under your name with absolute ownership. Don't ever take things for granted.  (5) Again, no harm for you and your husband purchasing your dream home with a joint loan, provided you have at least another home under your absolute ownership.  (6) Bear in mind, in most cases of divorce, it's gruesome and exasperated.  (7) There is hibah provision, but I'm not in favor of that for my own reasons.

Me: You should have joined 10 years ago? Employee: 11 years and 2 months. Me: Wooaa, what do you get on the 10th year? Employee: I got an iPad... I am now a senior member in the team... I have a very good and supportive boss. I have learnt a lot too. (very confident and motivated) Many bosses today are lack of "supervisory" skill. How to lead, communicate, counselling, manage, motivate and support. This results in poor engagement between them. Note that the supervisory skill is not limited to supervisor and foremen, manager and executive. Supervisory skill is the basis of a leader / leadership. Yes. the "Chief" / director is the supervisor of the GM, GM is the supervisor to the managers. Many bosses delegated the "engagement" functions to the HR, as the HR busking word suggests to champion "employee engagement" What on earth that make you think the HR can engage the hundreds or thousands employees in the organization? The team building event, eat and play sessions are not "real" engagement. The light moment together does not address the core issue in employee engagement. A positive engagement leads to productivity, quality team outputs, stress-free and high morale. The real engagement taking place between the supervisor and employee, never between HR and employee. HR role to to initiate, facilitate, coordinate and mediate the situation for a workable solution. However, in practise and in many cases, when the HR is called in, the bosses already made up his or her mind to terminate the employee. Hence, the EE/ER (employee engagement / employee relation) becoming IR (industrial relation) issue. The notion... "the reward for hard work is..... more works". Is this kind of engagement at work? Is this not happen at work place? Tell me, if you heard of, experienced of, part of, or surprised of the above scenerio.
