Rethinking Reputation: How Your Employees' Personal Brands Elevate Your Employer Brand In today's dynamic business landscape, the concept of reputation extends beyond the traditional confines of corporate branding. It now encompasses the personal brands of employees and their impact on the overall employer brand. As a leader, understanding and leveraging this interconnected relationship can be a game-changer in shaping a positive and compelling organisational image. Employees are no longer just faces behind a company logo; they are brand ambassadors in their own right. Their individual values, expertise, and online presence contribute significantly to how the organisation is perceived externally. By empowering and encouraging employees to cultivate their personal brands authentically, businesses can amplify their employer brand's credibility and appeal. Encouraging employees to showcase their expertise, share insights, and engage with their professional networks not only enhances their personal brand but also reflects positively on the employer brand. When employees are seen as thought leaders and industry experts, it not only boosts their own credibility but also positions the company as a hub of talent and innovation. In a digital age where authenticity and transparency reign supreme, nurturing employees' personal brands can be a potent strategy for building trust and loyalty with both customers and potential talent. By aligning individual values with organisational goals, businesses can create a cohesive narrative that resonates with stakeholders on a deeper level, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. #EmployerBrand #PersonalBranding #ReputationManagement

I explored new frontiers in my work, here's what I found based on the challenges that I faced. The biggest challenge in employer branding in big companies is maintaining a consistent and authentic brand identity across diverse regions, departments, and roles. As organizations grow and become more complex, ensuring that the employer brand is uniformly understood and experienced by all employees and potential recruits becomes increasingly difficult. The key to overcoming this challenge is: Utilize unified digital platforms for communication and branding materials. This ensures that all employees have access to the same resources and can see consistent messaging, regardless of their location. #employerbranding #branding #employeeengement #brandingmaterials #digitalplatform #bigcompanies #brandbuilding

𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 In a multi-brand company, managing diverse products or services while maintaining a cohesive identity is no easy task. One strategic tool that often gets overlooked? A strong #EmployerBrand. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬? While each (sub)brand may have its own mission (e.g. kununu, XING), the overarching employer brand is what unites them internally and externally (New Work SE). It provides a common cultural thread, fostering unity and alignment among employees regardless of the specific brand they work for. A strong employer brand: 🫶🏽 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: It helps create a unified workforce that feels connected to the company’s overall mission and values, not just to their brand's objectives. 💡 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭: A clear employer brand allows companies to attract talent that aligns with the broader corporate values, even when brand identities differ. 🐶 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲: Employees who identify with the company’s employer brand feel a stronger sense of belonging, which boosts retention and commitment. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 In a multi-brand environment, employees often cross paths on different projects, and without a strong employer brand to bind them, silos can form. Employer branding bridges these gaps, ensuring that employees remain aligned to the company’s goals and culture, no matter which brand they represent. A strong employer brand also simplifies internal communication. Employees know what the company stands for, which helps in onboarding, talent development, and creating a positive work culture across all brands. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 For multi-brand companies, the employer brand serves as the glue that holds everything together. It drives consistency, unity, and loyalty across various brands, making it a strategic necessity in a complex corporate landscape. 🤹🏽♀️𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭: Do you notice how similar the field of employer branding is with the field of classical branding? The interpretation and execution of a strong employer brand does not work without the knowledge from the notion of brand strategy and brand marketing. #EmployerBranding #MultiBrandStrategy #WorkplaceCulture #TalentAttraction #BrandConsistency #BrandStrategy

Why Your Bland Brand Matters. Let's face it, not every organisation has the most exciting mission statement or the coolest office perks. But even if your values seem a bit... bland, you can still do a lot with them when it comes to engagement - don't underestimate the power of employer branding. Sometimes we just need to be more creative with what we have in front of us. The amount of brand values that use words like 'integrity' or 'collaboration' can seem like the dullest wallpaper. I do believe you can breathe life into values without having to wholesale rebrand. However, sometimes an organisation does just need a good shake-up - so never rule that out! Why Bother? 💚 Attract Top Talent: A strong employer brand can help you attract and retain top talent. According to LinkedIn companies with strong employer brands are 88% more likely to attract quality talent. 🏅 Boost Customer Loyalty: A strong employer brand can also impact customer perception. Studies have shown that customers are more likely to do business with companies with a positive reputation as employers. Remember, a strong employer brand is a valuable asset, even for the most 'ordinary' of companies. We have a team at Six that can fix that for you - straightforward, adaptable and expert-led. #blandbrands #brandvalues #employerbrand #employeeexperience #customerperception

Employer branding is the story of your business – the one you tell and the ones your team shares about their experiences. While this infographic offers five useful pillars; don’t forget those two branches previously mentioned – your narrative and the one other people have about you. Crafting your own narrative is easy, it’s more a matter of reinforcing that message, demonstrating your brand value authentically through actions and behaviours. Employees’ stories take more time, effort, and consideration. Employees will develop their own opinions and experiences during their tenure – it’s your job to make their time as meaningful and memorable as possible. Branding is a story – whether told internally or externally, it’s the identity established by an organisation and realised through its people. How are you sharing your brand story? #employerbranding #reputationmanagement #brandbuilding

📢 Your corporate brand is not the same as your employer brand or EVP (Employee Value Proposition). While a corporate brand speaks to customers and stakeholders, your employer brand reflects your reputation as an employer and what makes working at your organization unique.
