Are you a Quality Engineer? Are you frustrated with the challenges in maintaining high-quality standards? With over 25 years of experience in recruiting Inspectors, Quality Engineers and Quality Managers, I have a good understanding of the frustrations many engineers face. Often there is a lack of investment available to purchase new technology which impedes your ability to ensure a quality product is manufactured. Inadequate Training and Development opportunities are common. Moreover, poor leadership significantly impacts on job satisfaction. Frequent conflicts and lack of cooperation from other teams often create a challenging work environment. This all increases workload, heightened stress levels, creates unrealistic deadlines and leads to burnout. Quality Engineers are often overlooked due to a lack of clear career progression and advancement opportunities, resulting in stagnation which results to people leaving the industry altogether. If this sounds familiar, remember it doesn't have to be this way. Many of the companies I deal with have excellent Quality Departments and are supportive to their Quality Engineers. If you are interested in discussing your career path and exploring opportunities for growth and advancement, please do not hesitate to get in touch. #Quaity #Lean #PPAP

Undertook a little "experiment" today. Seeing a lot of recruiters/HM's complaining about unsuitable applications and why people apply for certain roles. Went to one of the UK's "leading" job boards. I uploaded a profile and CV, my target role was "recruitment manager" - nothing else, no other titles added to the list. CV was uploaded. Within 2 mins of setting things up I received an email from them proclaiming Hi Tom, you have 112 new matching jobs for your ‘Recruitment Manager" job within 20 miles of East Kilbride, it included these doozies - Mechanical Project Manager Global Category Manager - Ocean Freight Peripatetic Nursing Home Manager Health and Safety Manager (Contract) Nursing Home Manager Not a single recruitment role amongst them, I can only think the word "manager" is what they matched against, surely they can do better than this for searches and matches. Nearly all roles were "quick apply" or " 1 click apply" I guess some people just glance at the email and assume the job board has got it right, a quick scan of the job "yup, it's near, yup it pays what I want" click apply and they're done. Recruiter reviews CV's and has loads of unsuitable "applicants".

The Job market is not all doom and gloom!! Even though permanent job opportunities fell around 14% YOY in the 4th Qtr of 2023 and employers in NZ seemingly exhibiting more caution in their hiring decisions. I have seen a dramatic increase in the requirement for SKILLED workers in our Manufacturing, Production, Service and Supply Chain industries. However with unemployment in NZ still sitting at around 4% candidates are not flying off their seats to jump at any jobs that pop up (*insert proactive not reactive recruiters). I have noticed that candidates are approaching job changes more tentatively and making calculated moves based on opportunities for professional development, stability and pay rate. I am currently working on a number of great roles, that if I am completely honest tick all 3 candidates desires above. I am looking for professionals in the following areas: - Service Managers - Senior Technicians - Senior Warehouse Distribution - Engineers (FMCG, Marine, Heavy Machinery) - Industrial Electricians and Mechanical fitters - Automation - Project Managers Please reach out if you are a candidate considering a new role in any of the above areas and want to chat or perhaps you are an employer looking for top talent. 📲 [email protected]

Whilst I am all for keeping an open mind when it comes to job applications, there does seem to be a bit of a trend at the min for simply applying for anything and everything 😜 When the rain finally came down on me yesterday (I could see it was on its way, but persisted with trying to plan a BBQ anyway 🤣 ).. I thought I might as well log in and clear my inbox ready for my shorter week. .......I've noticed that my inbox is filling up thick and fast... I go to the loo and return to at least 15 job applications most days........ 🤣 ... Whilst this might sound encouraging, I'm noticing that the fast applications coming through do not in any way meet the basic criteria..... I'm all for being open-minded and I often do ring candidates who I'm not certain about, as you 'never know'.... but at the min, it seems to be getting quite ridiculous. I've got two support roles in at the min... both are in manufacturing and the support required is for either electronics or mechanical support... I must've had over 100 IT Support Technicians apply for these roles. This says to me that they haven't read the advert. My thoughts on this..... * Always read the advert. Make sure you understand what the job requires and if you feel you are 50/50 and could learn the rest, then apply. * If you are not sure, ring and ask. I'm always happy to chat through a role and explain in more detail. I find it encouraging when people do this. * Always read the advert 😁 * If you read the advert and it doesn't make sense... then probably don't bother 😁 * ALWAYS READ THE ADVERT 😂 Happy to say that I got my chicken kebabs. BBQ has rotted through the winter and so off I go to buy another one this week........ I'm certain that a BBQ is on the cards soon. Have a great, short week everyone. 😍 #adverts #recruitment #fortempeople #yorkshirerecruitment #lancashirerecruitment

Pro-Accel Employee Promoting Tip! If you wish to introduce a new position in your growing construction company, I highly suggest you do your homework and get very clear on what that new position means for your company today AND how it'll shape your future. I hear way too many stories of growing contractors who introduce a new position in their growing company by just telling one of their employees they're promoted without even knowing how to position that employee for success BOTH for the company and themselves. Know the full list of skills and responsibilities of what's needed for that role, hire or promote the person who has the most matching skills, THEN develop employees to quickly gain the skill gap they have (everyone has skill gaps). I suggest you also understand the roles/responsibilities of whom this person will be reporting to and try to offset some of the responsibilities to the newly appointed position. Why? Since you are growing, the person who is now this new positions supervisor will ALSO be taking on new responsibilities and skills needed to bring the company to the next level. They need to evolve and grow as well! It's not about one role, every role changes when companies grow. #proaccel #constructionoperations #constructionconsulting
