❓Is your building drifting? This is the question posed by our James Hallworth MRICS, Partner and Head of IBOS in his latest article, published by BE News. 💡"Just like cars," writes James, "buildings are vulnerable to equipment deficiencies and general wear and tear over time. These can cause buildings to deviate or 'drift' away from their intended operational status, as commissioned when they were designed and built." 💡As James points out, left unchecked, energy drift can significantly decrease the efficiency of a building’s systems, and the numbers are higher than property managers might expect. 💡Properties can see energy efficiency deteriorate by between 10% and 30% over a one- to two-year period due to drift, according to research from Texas A&M University and the Berkeley Lab. 👀Read James's article here: https://bit.ly/4g1uJaL #propertymanagement #energyefficiency #energydrift #commercialrealestate

Energy efficiency service providers, get ready to deal with the most annoying clients of your life - building owners who have resisted improvement for decades, are now being forced to do something, and will try to do the absolute bare minimum for the lowest cost possible. Unless of course this straw breaks the camel’s back and they decide to sell the asset to someone who knows how to manage property in the 21st century...
‘Energy-intensive’ buildings must improve efficiency or face fines of up to S$150,000
