By using demographic and firmograohic weightings we can set up a lead scoring model that fits your unique needs. Tools such as HubSpot, Marketo and Pardot all have the ability to build out your lead scoring. By using lead scoring to MQL your leads the sales team is then able to prioritize which leads are most likely to move along the sales funnel based on their engagement. 😶 Many HubSpot users make lead scoring too complicated. Here are three common mistakes you should avoid for more effective lead scoring: 1️⃣ Don't rely only on email metrics Emails opened or clicked may trigger spam filters, inflating your scores with false positives. Focus on metrics that reflect genuine engagement, not just spam activity. 2️⃣ Don't disqualify leads based on free text fields Job titles are free-text fields, so they’re inconsistent and can filter out great leads unintentionally. Use broader criteria or cross-check with other data points for a clearer picture. 3️⃣ Keep your scoring criteria simple Overly complex models can lead to confusion and missed opportunities. Simplicity helps you quickly identify high-quality leads without overloading your system. 🔥 Don’t confuse lead scoring with fit scoring—both are valuable but serve different purposes!
