How we do it has changed over time but there is nothing quite like planning pre-season. For me, the most important thing is to have games/exhibitions on the schedule. We like to start things off by going over key concepts and ideas and then play as soon as possible. See what sticks and what needs reinforcement. We then plan the next few sessions before our next exhibition based on what we saw. Contrast to when I first started (at St Kate’s); we would plan every day for weeks with little to no flexibility. Follow the plan and force the ideas. The current method is more adaptive to what we see from the team in the moment. Both achieved success, it’s just fun looking back and seeing how things have changed.

Team games are a big part of our Monday Morning process. It's how we start our week, as part of our regular Monday morning meeting, enjoying some time together as a team before the busy week ahead.
