Make site visits a priority. Take time to visit venues in the area in which you serve, being sure to include all styles (formal, informal, etc) & sizes. This will ensure, when clients ask for suggestions, you’re well versed & have plenty to offer! These visits will also help form relationships with venue owners/managers for future collaborations. Planning an event? Here are (3) tips that will help YOU, help your vendors to execute their part smoothly & on time: (1) WHO is the alternate "point person," for your event? In the event you are unavailable, your vendors need to know who else can make decisions. Assign a person who is educated about the timelines, layout, and aesthetics for the event. (2) WHAT are the venue expectations for your vendors? Please share this information 2-4 weeks before the event. i.e: WHERE should vendors unload and enter the building (most venues have a separate entrance for vendors to enter with their equipment). (3) UNDERSTAND, we must stay in our lane.
