#GuaranteesofOrigin (GOs) have always been controversial in #Norway. And while some feared the largest GO producer could leave the energy tracking system, the likelihood of Norway quitting GOs has never been lower. Why? We spoke with Lars Ragnar Solberg, Principal Consultant at AFRY Management Consulting, about three main reasons for the changing attitudes of the Norwegian government and industry towards GOs: - The EU is pushing Norway to implement the long-overdue RED II. - The GO system now provides significant income to the Norwegian state. - The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is implemented in Norway and GOs will play an important role in reporting #renewableenergy use. Click here to read the full article: https://lnkd.in/dsVuZFYu Thank you, Lars Ragnar Solberg, for the chat!

🔊 The 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States #SIDS4, “Charting the course toward resilient prosperity" is approaching and will take place from 27 to 30 May in #AntiguaandBarbuda. The proposed ten-year UN plan puts focus on building #climateresilience and fostering the transition of SIDS towards diversified #green, #blue and #digital #economies. There is need for an international system that allows island businesses to participate in fair #supplychains and #leapfrog to innovative technologies and business models. The outcome document also highlights the importance of SIDS-SIDS and triangular cooperation #SSTC as a mean for enhanced implementation and accelerated progress. Therefore, the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centres (GN-SEC), covering 35 of 39 SIDS, is a good platform to promote joint learning and exchanges on adapted clean energy solutions, including #renewables #energyefficiency #gridflexibility #storage #electricmobility #greenports. #SIDSGBN #SIDS4 UNIDO Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for Central Africa (CEREEAC) SICA Centre for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency #PCREEE Pacific Community-SPC #SIDSDOCK Watch our video: https://lnkd.in/dEh_hHXQ

As part of the deployment of its #CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy, a strategic axis of the company, comprising 3 pillars: ➡ Environment, ➡ People, ➡ Partnership, The éolane group involves its employees and continues to measure its greenhouse gas emissions. Its objective is to collectively control and limit its emissions to actively participate in the respect of the International Climate Agreements. After having completed it in China and launched it in Estonia, a "Carbon Assessment", based on the "Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)" accounting standard, will be generalized to all sites: ➡ In 2024: Saint-Agrève (EAST France Region), Combrée (CENTRE France Region), Douarnenez (WEST France Region), Berrechid and Temara (Morocco) ➡ In 2025: Angers (CENTRE France Region), Neuilly-en-Thelle and Valence (EAST France Region), and Berlin (Germany) This enables the group to identify the most emitting sources and positions and to develop a plan of actions to reduce these emissions and thus improve our practices. A "Climate Fresk" training is provided to members of the Executive Committees of the various éolane Regions as well as to the team members participating in the decarbonization project. #CSR, Eolane China, 欧朗中国 Eolane China, éolane Tallinn, Eolane SysCom GmbH, #electronics, #eolanespirit

🌀 Can local ownership drive a green transition? 🔌 Islanders in Bornholm want to establish a locally owned windmill – an act for a sustainable future and to unite the island. We have interviewed 8 of them to explore the steps they took and the challenges they faced. "I think one lesson, among many, from the Bornholm Havvind case is that local involvement is important – but not enough to create change to a fossil-free sustainable energy system. As actors, we are always surrounded by enabling and hindering physical and social structures." - Elin Slätmo, author of the storymap. 💡 Read our full story and discover key takeaways for locally owned energy systems: https://lnkd.in/gniuDR4C

A good day for Project Greensand and CCS in Europe. Today, the EU Commission has announced the selection of innovative net-zero projects to receive grants from the EU Innovation Fund. Among the 85 selected projects is Project Greensand operated by INEOS Energy together with the license partners Harbour Energy and Nordsøfonden. Last year Project Greensand demonstrated as a worlds first that CO2 could be transported cross borders to be stored offshore to mitigate climate change. And recently the independent verifier DNV verified that CO2 can be stored safely in Greensand. The good news on Project Greensand being among the selected net-zero projects is a huge acknowledgement of the importance of CCS in general and of the work done by the partners behind Greensand. The support from the Innovation Fund will be a valuable contribution to our work with Project Greensand and the fulfilment of the ambition to establish the first CO2-storage site within the EU by the end of 2025/start of 2026.
