Chatting with business owners and directors daily about their websites, and one common thing is a dead give away that they need help. It’s a focus on vanity metrics and not tracking conversion rate. Here are some reasons why? Conversion rates tell you if visitors are taking the actions you want them to (like buying or contacting you). It's all about understanding how they interact with your site! High page views are great, but are they leading to leads or sales? Shiny metrics can sometimes mask important conversion issues. The right data helps you spend smarter. It shows you which marketing efforts are actually driving results. Here are some solutions? Track conversion rates & user behavior (like Google Analytics). Set up goals to measure what matters (form submissions, purchases, etc.). Regularly analyse data and optimise for conversions. How’d you hear about us? Digital Speak = Last-Click Attribution. This refers to a web analytics model in which the “last click” is given credit for a sale or conversion. In other words, if someone comes to your website and orders some flowers, you should have a web analytics system in place that tells you where that customer came from. Did they come from an ad on YouTube, or the natural search keyword” romantic flowers,” or did they find you after they followed your post on Facebook? But the great flaw in web analytics is that many visitors come to your website multiple times before converting, and you need to choose whether you want the credit for a sale to go to the “first click” that brought them to you, or to the “last click” that brought them to you. Often web analytics filters are defaulted to “last click” analysis. This is no different in #automotive. The automotive consumer is empowered like never before. I can appreciate a business wanting to have the best ROI. However, that can’t be determined any longer by asking the question…” How’d you hear about us? #Thoughts?

Navigating the intricacies of web tracking can be overwhelming, from measurements to analysis and reporting. Through web tracking, companies harness valuable insights into a buyer's activity on their website, enabling personalized content delivery. Tools like Google Analytics leverage cookies to track users and IP addresses, enhancing website engagement. While web tracking data is invaluable for understanding user behavior on a single website, intent data offers a broader perspective. Unlike web tracking data, intent data is sourced from diverse channels across tens of thousands of websites. Picture this: reaching out to a buyer before they embark on their purchasing journey. That's the power of intent data. Reach out today to find out more about intent data at dealsignal.com/demo
