I know some people sort of "stuck but making a lot of money" down south. Opportunity has to be phenomenal as our $ is currently hovering around ~.70 of a USD. Last time I left Canada for the US to work there (back in 1998), our Can $ was in the 65 cent range. When I came back to Canada, I took a 50% paycut......I wouldn't do that again. So these days, I would say that the opportunity has to be very, very compelling as 4 years will go by v. quickly, if that's the only reason.

This is super exciting, however, there are so many talented techies out there in Canada who can’t find a job, why can’t we connect these talented people with appropriate opportunities in Canada?

Would be interested to know what this program entails from a policy perspective; who funds it, etc. Is there a website or is this only in an early ideation stage?

Hi Daniel Wigdor: Thanks for sharing this. I'd be curious to learn more about the residency design / prerequisites esp. not just for the classic Silicon-Valley tech. talent but also one of my profile w. more multilateral tech. policy exp. having worked within + with international actors e.g. the UN, EC, etc.? Would be interested to know whether the firms you're in discussion with may also value this kind of background on roles concerning public policies or int. affairs. Thanks.

Thank for this announcement. As a post grad Canadian student soon graduating from Europe coming back home to Canada with the current economic challenges seems debatable. Looking for miracles that ease the transition back to Canada
